Janet Ruth Nogosek

The funeral Mass for Janet Ruth Nogosek will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 1, 2010 at St Francis Catholic Church, with Rev. William Thompson officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rochester, MN.  Mrs. Nogosek (Baker), 85, of Rochester, died Saturday April 24, 2010 of natural causes at  Seasons Hospice in Rochester.  She was born November 29, 1924 in Davenport, Iowa to Harold and Lila Baker.  She was raised in the Trempealeau and Winona area, and graduated from Trempealeau High School.  She married Rufus Nogosek August 11, 1945.  He passed away  in 1968.  She married John J. Nogosek in 1969 in Rochester and he passed away on May 2 , 2000.  Janet spent most of her adult life in Rochester and worked as an LPN at the State Hospital and Family Services.  She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and also a member of The Red Hat Society.  She is survived by two sons, Thomas M. (Diane) Nogosek of Apple Valley, MN.; Richard L. (Judith) Nogosek of Kansas City, MO. ; 3 step-sons, David J. (Marilyn) Nogosek of Rochester ; Steven E. Nogosek  of Dorchester, IA. ; Donald M. Nogosek of Rochester ; Step-daughter Marie H. (John) Wheeler of Rochester.  She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 husbands.

Janet enjoyed endless hours of card playing with family and friends and watching the Minnesota Twins.

Friends may call Friday, April 30, 2010 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Macken Funeral Home, and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.  Memorials are preferred to Seasons Hospice in Rochester. On line condolences are welcome at www.mackenfuneralhome.com.
