Margery Ann Pierson

Margery Ann Pierson, 76 of Rochester passed away on February 16, 2018 at Season’s Hospice Home.

Margery Ann Radtke was born in Benson, MN on September 10, 1941 to Arthur and Josie Radtke. Margery graduated from Benson High School in 1959 and went on to work in Rochester, MN at St. Marys Hospital and Mayo Clinic. She married Leo Pierson at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Rochester on April 28, 1962. After retiring in 1991, she spent time volunteering at Rochester Methodist Hospital and Meals on Wheels. Marge and Leo enjoyed many years of RV camping. In 1984, they bought a cabin on Lake Tetonka in Waterville, MN. After selling that cabin in 1994, they missed all the good friends they had met throughout the years, and so in 1997, they bought a Park Model RV and spent summers at Scott’s Campground in Waterville, MN. They wintered in Lake Havasu, AZ. Marge’s fondest memories were of a six week trip taken by motor home to Alaska. She also enjoyed spending a winter in Texas as well as shorter trips to Florida and Missouri. Marge had a hobby of collecting country music. She also enjoyed playing cards, dancing, and having lots of good times with friends and family.

Marge is survived by her husband Leo of 55 years, two daughters: Teresa “Tess” (Bob) Minkema of Medina, MN and Mona (Brad) Norman of Stewartville, MN, four grandchildren: Evan and Ehren Minkema and Ben (Anna) Norman and Elizabeth (Burton) Wacholtz, a great-grandson: Caleb Wacholtz, and a sister-in-law: Donna Radtke of Morris, MN.

She is preceded in death by her sister Vera (Lyle) Mallan of Rochester, two brothers: Delmer Radtke of Danvers, MN and Dennis Radtke of Morris, MN, and her parents.

The Memorial Mass for Margery will be held starting at 11:00am at Resurrection Catholic Church in Rochester on Friday, February 23, 2018 with Father Peter Schuster officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass at church. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.

Condolences

The family of Margery Ann Pierson has received the following condolences.

Leo and Family

You are in our thoughts and prayers.  Sympathy and friendship from Phil and Betty

Dearest Leo, Tess, Mona and all who loved Marge;  with sympathy and the fondest of memories, I wish for you strength and peace during this time of transition...   Marge always showed me unconditional spiritual support and acceptance, even when I was being "windy"! I will always remember Marge making late night butter noodles, singing with Kitty Wells, wearing pretty pantsuits; and of course her infectious and delightful laughter! Have fun in heaven Marge; we'll all join you someday. Save me a place at your picnic table ♥?Descanse en Paz ????

I will miss Margery's smiling face and quit wit. I really enjoyed joking with her and getting to know her. Thank you for sharing her with us!

I'll always have fond memories of Marge, her fun personality and love for her family was always showing.  May you find strength in your memories of Marge.  My deepest sympathies to you all.

Our sorrowful condolences to you all. I wish I could be there to give you a hug.

Love,

Barb and Peter

Leo, Tess, & Mona Mae ...

It is always very sad to lose a close friend in our midst and while that part is very difficult, the special memories we think about and can recall in an instant, speak to the great times we had for so many years.  From day 1 in Rochester, it was an immediate friendship that blossomed into great times with so many laughs and fun activities – morning, noon, & night.  We always felt like we are here today (45 years later from Colorado) because of Leo & Marge and their initial acceptance of us, quickly followed by our involvement in all of the fun activities they had going with their many friends and of course, Tess & Mona Mae (& Lucky). We were “family” right from the beginning and we felt it !  We “knew” it would go on “forever” and now a reality check, but those special memories we will take with us no matter where and they can’t be undone.  We’ll forever remember the fun times – camping, roadies, boating & pontooning, water skiing behind “ol’ blue”, catching & filleting crappies & blue gills, enjoying special chicken dumpling soup – the best !, dancing, traveling (to Colorado & Branson), and playing the guitar & singing around the camp fire.  Rest in peace Margery Ann !

Dear Tess, Mona, Leo and all,  Thinking of you and praying for your peace and comfort. I will remember Marge as a fun loving, funny, and lovely lady with a welcoming smile and a warm heart??

With love,

Cathy

Our deepest sympathy to you all, when we think of Marge we smile, she always made people laugh, we know she will still be doing that, As she has gone home to glory, to her home in the sky, she is one of Gods angels, let fly, let her fly

So sorry for your loss, thinking of you Mona, Tess, Leo and all your family. Many hugs.

Leo, Tess, Mona, and family,

Some people come into our lives and leave a footprint on our soul.  Marge was one who left an imprint on so many people.  We will forever remember her laughter and the way she welcomed everyone into her family and home.  The good times we spent together throughout the years will forever be in our memories; although difficult, I treasure being able to spend some time with her the last few weeks.  We share in your sadness and hope that you are able to take comfort as you remember the good times and how she positively impacted so many lives.

Mark, Leigh and family

Dear Leo, Tess, & Mona,

There are simply no words to express my sympathy to all of you. The world is now a different place with Marge's passing. How very fortunate we all were to have had her in our lives. How very blessed I was to have had her as a neighbor and dear, dear friend. We went through a lot together - good and bad - but always with a smile, a laugh, and a lot of love. I'll carry those memories always in my heart. I hope the love and support of her, and your, many dear friends will give you comfort and peace. Love to you all, Penny & Gary
