Arleen A. Anderson

Arleen Anderson, age 84, passed away peacefully at St. Marys Hospital surrounded by family on Saturday, December 2, 2017.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 6 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Rochester, MN with Rev. Thomas Loomis officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass at the church. A memorial service will also be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 7 at Leonard Funeral Home in Dubuque, IA with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Dubuque.

Arleen was born Sept 18, 1933 in LeRoy, NY daughter of Clifford and Catherine (Lynch) Brownell. She married Robert (Bob) Anderson on November 22, 1958 in LeRoy, NY. In 1965, she and her family moved to Dubuque, IA, where she spent the next 48 years of her life. After retiring as a secretary, she became a long time volunteer at Birthright. She also loved to travel with Bob and her extended family. In August 2013, she moved to Rochester, where she made many good friends at the Shorewood and Homestead Senior Living Communities.

She is survived by her son, Bruce (Laura) Anderson of Rochester; her grandchildren, Claire (Levi) Teigen, Nick (Nicolle) Anderson, and Tim Anderson; her great granddaughter, Sloane Teigen; her sister-in-law, Hazel Brownell and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; and her brothers, Donald, Ted and Kenneth.

Memorial donations can be made to the Rochester Catholic Schools or Holy Family Catholic Schools of Dubuque, IA.
