A funeral mass for Helen Lucille Campion will be at 11:00am Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Resurrection Catholic Church, Rochester, Minnesota with the Rev. Thomas Loomis officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Chatfield, Minnesota.
Helen Campion, 84 of rural Eyota, died Sunday, April 4, 2010 at the Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, MN of complications of Lewy Body Dementia (Alzheimer’s).
She was born April 25, 1925 in Rochester, Minnesota to Francis and Florence Campion. Helen married James B. “Jim” Campion on August 18, 1951. James died on March 18, 2005.
Helen lived in assisted living in St. Charles for 2 1/2 years and Arbor Gardens in Eyota for 2 1/2 years. She lived her entire married life in rural Eyota. Helen worked as a kitchen aid at the Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, MN. Mr. Campion farmed in rural Eyota.
She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Rochester where assisted with wedding planning. Helen enjoyed cake decorating and sewing.
She is survived by her two sons, Francis (Marylee) Campion, Oronoco, MN and Michael (Vicki) Campion of Eyota, MN; two daughters, Colleen (Ron) Allen of Chatfield, MN and Linda (Steve) Sikkink of Rochester, MN; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Weivoda of Chatfield, MN.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00pm Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
