Marion “Mary” Limbeck

Marion “Mary” Limbeck, age 90, of Rochester, passed away on Monday, Jan. 16, 2017 at Cottagewood Senior Living in Rochester.

Mary Warwaryick was born on Sept. 11, 1926, to William and Marie (Semec) Warwaryick in Szumiacz, Ukraine. She emigrated to Canada with her parents as a toddler. On March 28, 1946, she married Norris Limbeck, whom she met while he was on active duty with the U.S. Air Force during WWII. Following Norris’s discharge from the Air Force, the couple moved to Iowa. A short time later, they moved to Rochester, MN. Together, the couple worked for Atlas Van Lines in Rochester.

Mary was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church in Rochester, teaching Sunday School for years. She also was active in the ladies auxiliary at church. Mary also volunteered at Channel One Food Shelf and knitted hundreds of baby hats for newborns. She enjoyed traveling back to Canada to visit her extended family, playing board games and bingo.

Mary is survived by her son Guy (Paula) Limbeck of Byron; her two grandchildren, Dalton Limbeck and Mara Limbeck, also of Byron; siblings, Kay (Ray) Malmas of Westlock, Alberta, Canada; Stella (Norman) Weber also of Westlock, Alberta, Canada; and Lennie (Gilbert) Fortier of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norris; her parents; sisters, Olga, Anne and Helen; her brother, Peter; and her step-daughter, Merna.

A Funeral Service for Mary will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at the chapel in Christ United Methodist Church (400 5th St. SW, Rochester) with Pastor Martha Hendricks officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Rochester.

Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.

Guy, I am so sorry for the loss of your mom!  I have a lot of good memories from when we were neighbors.  Your mom was a wonderful lady.  She will be deeply missed!

Betty (Patchin) Karsten

Guy,

So sorry to hear about the loss of your mother.  Peace be with you and your family at this difficult time.  Sending prayers your way.

Guy, Paula, Dalton and Mara. Sincere condolences from the Late Anne Warwaryick Wold Clarahan's family. Auntie Mary was special to us all. We looked forward to her visits every year. I loved seeing you, Guy, our American cousin. You had to put up with your 21 cousins while here, and you were the only one with an accent! Lots of great memories to cherish.  Auntie Mary made time to see her parents, siblings, then nieces and nephews and later on our children and grandchildren. Wish we could all be with you at this time.

With love and affection, Bonnie, Jim and Randy & Tina and families

Mary, what a special and unique lady she was.  You know I have known Mary since I was an infant and had the pleasure to visit her often when I was growing up.  Guy you probably don't remember this but whether you were home or not I would just go over to your house.  Mary always welcomed me, gave me a snack and we would just visit.  She LOVED to visit.  I fondly remember being with you and your Mom at the Grout Family 4th of July picnic's. What fantastic memories, playing croquet, pie eating contests, fire works and all the pop and food and homemade pies you could consume! I wish all kids could have the kind of childhood that we did!

Guy you know you will always be a special part of our family!  My deepest sympathy's to you and your family.

Love you like a sister! Lorrie

To family and friends, please accept sincere condolences to all at his time of grief. Death is an enemy that take those we love, leaving much hurt and an emptiness of heart. Our Loving Creator cares for us ( 1Peter 5:7) Soon He will undo all the hurtful things that take away the happiness of life. Even will put an end to death so all righteous and obedient humans can live on a Paradise earth with the joy of welcoming back our loved ones  from the sleep  of death.  These promises and many more are written in the Bible to give us comfort and a brighter hope for the future. Mary was a member of our Homemakers group for many years. She was the keeper of the memories, as she had an album of many fun times we'd had at our meetings. She was always smiling, and such a good friend to many of us. My sincere condolences to Guy and family, and to  her Canadian family. Through the years we met 2 of her sisters who came for visits.  Take care and God bless you!  Alice Hidalgo

My sympathy , will see you Friday

Guy, Paula, Dalton, Mara, I was so sad to hear of Aunty Mary's passing.  I have so many fond memories of her trips up to visit us, and I always looked forward to seeing her.  She was a remarkable woman, full of love and life.  She had quite the sense of humor, and there were always many laughs during her visits, especially during cribbage games.  Take care and cherish your memories of her.
