Helen M. Hale

The funeral service for Helen Marie (Gardner) Hale will be held on Wednesday, December 14, at 10 am at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester with Pastor Nancy  Wheeler Handlon officiating .  Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester, MN.

Helen Hale, age 94, formerly of Rochester, died on December 10 at her home with her daughter in Rose Creek, Minnesota. She was born on October 10, 1922, to Charles W. and Sadina Gardner in Chatfield, Minnesota.  She married Charles B. Hale on April 15, 1945, at Camp Fannin, Tyler, Texas.   They had one daughter, Roberta Jean Schwartz.

Helen was a Rochester resident and retired from Mayo Clinic.  She was a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries and Christ United Methodist Church of Rochester.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Roberta Schwartz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Hale, her parents, and son-in-law, Charles Schwartz.

Friends may call at on December 13 from 4 to 7 pm and 1 hour before the service at Macken Funeral Home, 1105 12th Street Southeast.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be designated to Christ United Methodist Church (400 5th Ave SW, Rochester, MN 55902) or to the Division of Hematology at Mayo Clinic (gifts can be mailed directly to Mayo Clinic, Department of Development, 200 First Street SW, Rochester, MN 55905).
