Mary Ann Dawson Novotne

Mary Ann (Heintz) Dawson Novotne, 85, died Monday, October 31, 2016 in Rochester. She was born October 9, 1931, at home in Le Sueur, Minnesota to Bernard Heintz and Alvina Heintz.

Mary Ann attended school at St. Joseph’s School and Franklin Jr. High School in Minneapolis. She lived in the Southwest United States for several years, returning to Minnesota in 1957 first to Minneapolis and subsequently to Rochester in the mid 1960’s.

She entered many of her projects in the Olmsted County Fair, winning many ribbons, and also knitted caps for newborn babies in the NICU. She raised a garden and canned vegetables for many years. In retirement, she enjoyed camping at Whippoorwill, and at Alamo, Texas during the winters.

She is survived by her husband of nearly fifty years, Marv Novotne. As well, she is survived by her sisters, Patricia Wall and Marilyn Johnson. She is also survived by her children, Theresa (Richard) Lund, Richard Dawson, Patt (Dan), Bruce (Polly) Novotne, Thomas (Mary) Dawson, and Kevin (Wendy Williams) Dawson. Condolences

The family of Mary Ann Dawson Novotne has received the following condolences.

We look forward to seeing our loved ones again because of the Bible's promise at Acts 24:15 "And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous."

Marv, Tom and Mary, and family, words of condolence will not replace the emptiness left in your hearts and lives, but we need to rely on our faith and remember that God calls each one of us back to Heaven at His choosing and not ours.  Rest In Peace Mary Ann.
