The love of a family is life’s greatest blessing…
Rose M. Sanden, 90 years old went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2016. She passed away peacefully; after a short illness at Saint Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by family at her side.
Rose was born in Ada, MN to Frank and Catherine Riepe on May 19, 1925. She was the second oldest of eleven children. She had a heart for service to others with many careers including beautician, nurse aide, food service at the Brown Derby, Town House and the Kahler Hotel – (including Room Service, Functions before retiring from the Penthouse). Rose met and married Lyle Sanden on February 11, 1956 in Rochester, MN. Lyle preceded her in death on July 8, 1975.
She is survived by her five children, Diane (Ron) Boysen of Lake Mills IA, Bob (Kerry) Sanden of Hager City WI, Cindi (Kirk) Moist of Eau Claire WI, Patty (John) Miller of Rochester MN, Mary Beth Jeter (Scott Ryan) of Rochester MN, thirteen grandchildren, eighteen (soon to be twenty-one) great grandchildren.
Rose was a special person that once met was never forgotten. There are numerous things that will remind us daily of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend…her generous spirit, love of cooking/quilting/gardening, and her contagious laugh.
The family offer thanks to her many doctors and caregivers for their compassionate care, love and respect she received.
Condolences
The family of Rose Margaret Sanden has received the following condolences.
I unfortunately did not get a chance to meet Rose. I just started working here at Church of St. Francis as Office Manager. I read her obituary & all I have heard is wonderful things about her from members of the church. Seems like she was a wonderful woman & I know she is up in heaven watching down on each & every one of you! I am very sorry for your loss & please know that Rose & all of the family are in my prayers. God Bless, Michelle Ibarra.
what I remember about Aunt Rose is she always spoke her mind something I also do. When you went to he house she had cups and matching saucers around all the rooms. Rose would have tea with whoever came over. My family the kids of Ray Riepe Roses brother enjoyed all the family at Roses birthday party. Rose will be missed by all but she will be with her love Lyle may they both rest in piece!
Diane, Bob, Cindy, Patty, and Marybeth,
So sorry to hear of your mothers passing. It's hard to lose a parent, there are so many memories to hold in your heart, that will always keep her near you. I have so many happy memories growing up next door to your family. She was a special lady. I always knew when Bob was in trouble, because your mom would call out the front door "Robert James Sanden get in here" Lots of memories of your mom, and hope you all can cherish and hold her memories close, to help you get through this difficult time. I wish you all well, and am sending you all hugs. Take care and my sympathies are with you.

Patty and Bobbi, So sorry for your loss. Now the hard part begins-living without her. She was one of a kind, a beautiful smile and a wonderful laugh. Sorry I can not be there to give you both a hug. Thinking of you on this difficult day. God Bless and Take Care. Nancy
Mary, I just want to say I am so sorry for your loss. I know the 2 of you were very close. I will keep you all in my prayers.
Aunt Rose was such a special person. She's one of the first of many Rochester relatives I remember and her laugh and teasing always made me smile. She was a sassy one to be sure. Although I didn't get to see her for a few years, I always knew she would be a survivor. I'm glad she can finally be at rest. My heart and prayers go out to your family and I hope you find comfort in Jesus as you adjust to her absence. Love you, cousins.
We are so sorry to hear of Aunt Rose's passing. She was one of my favorites but hated it when she put my middle name with my first - and she always did???. She will be missed but I'm certain she is making everyone laugh!! Can't make it to funeral as we are babysitting grandchildren in Houston. Our love to all. Dick and Mary Cirks
