Brock D. Rechtzigel

The funeral service for Brock Dennis Rechtzigel will be at 11:00am on Thursday July 23, 2015 at the River Park Chapel, Macken Funeral Home with Rev. Shari Mason officiating.  Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.  A visitation will be held from 5:00pm ~ 8:00pm on Wednesday evening and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at River Park Chapel, Macken Funeral Home.

Brock Dennis Rechtzigel, 42 died unexpectedly on Sunday morning, July 19 at his home.

Brock was born on June 15, 1973 in Cannon Falls to Bette (VanGuilder) and Dennis Rechtzigel. He attended Cannon Falls Schools.

Brock spent most of his adult life living in Rochester, MN with several years spent in Phoenix, AZ.

Brock had many talents and exceled in most everything he did.  He was especially gifted as a craftsman and woodworker.  He could build anything.  Just give Brock an idea or design and he could build it.

Brock was a very sociable and likeable guy.  He had many good friends and he enjoyed spending time with them.

October 31, 1997 was one of the happiest days of Brock’s life when his daughter Brittani was born.  Brock was a kind, caring and dedicated father who deeply loved his children.

The saddest day of Brock’s life was the day he lost his beloved sister and best friend, Jessi Fritz on March 14, 2005.  Jessi’s death was a devastating loss for Brock, from which he never truly recovered.

Brock will be remembered for being a good friend to many, a warm and caring nephew to his many aunts and uncles, a beloved grandson to his grandparents, a super fun and doting uncle to his nieces and nephews, a much loved brother to his siblings and a devoted and dedicated son to his parents.  Brock was an especially tender and caring son to his mother.

Brock is survived by his mother Bette VanGuilder Albert, his father Dennis (Patty) Rechtzigel, his  children Taylor and Brittani,  his sister Bree (Tim) Smude, his brother Ryan (Angie) Rechtzigel, his brother-in-law Brad (Jan) Fritz, his nieces and nephews, his paternal grandparents Art and Delores Rechtzigel, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gene and Betty VanGuilder and his sister Jessi Fritz.

Condolences

The family of Brock D. Rechtzigel has received the following condolences.

Brock went to school with my little brother. When they were teenagers, he spent so much time at our house that it was like having an extra brother around. I remember Brock as a cute and energetic kid, friendly and kind. It is incredibly tragic that he is gone at age 42.

Impressions from Brock

Brock’s open nature presented a genuine man with whom I was immediately stricken with by the solid qualities of his character and values.  He was endearing, sincere and admirable.  Stepping in to help others at the drop of a hat without a thought; that was his way.  Nearest and dearest to Brock was time with his family.

Brock’s core exuded love for his whole family; siblings, parents, and daughter.  He would never consider being nearby a family member and not stopping to visit. Brock recently took his daughter to Valley Fair Amusement Park- stopping to visit his mother along the way.  He spoke of being humbled and grateful to have a relationship with such a beautiful, hard-working and goal-oriented daughter of which meant the world to him.

Privileged to have known him for a short time.

my heart is heavy with this news, Brock was always one of the most nicest guys in high school. Great FFA member, and always had a way to make me smile when it seemed the world was against me. He was great childhood friend and will be dearly missed. My prayers are with you Ryan and Bree...and with the rest of his family as well. Heaven  an amazing angel with this guy.
