Audrey Belle Kuehn
Audrey Belle Kuehn, 94, of Rochester, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015, with family at her side, at the Samaritan Bethany Home on Eighth in Rochester. She was born June 13, 1921 in Mazeppa, MN to Charles Eugene and Addie Sibley. On August 18, 1939, she married Ceylon J. Kuehn. They lived on a small dairy farm in Hammond, MN where they raised their 7 children.
Audrey was a homemaker and belonged to the St. John’s Lutheran Church Ladies Auxiliary in Hammond. She later worked in the Mayo Clinic Venipuncture Blood Bank for 15 years before retiring in 1986. Then she lived at Fontaine Towers for 26 years where she made many friends and was best known as the “Jigsaw Puzzle Queen.” She loved and enjoyed her family, crocheting, knitting, jigsaw puzzles, reading, playing cards, walking and some traveling. She also loved baking and was famous for her pies that she donated every year to the Fontaine Towers Annual Bizarre Sale. Audrey also volunteered playing 500 cards weekly for awhile at Samaritan Bethany. When asked what she would like people to remember about her, she said that “I love to give.”
Audrey is survived by six children, Wendell (Marlys) Kuehn, Wayne (Mary) Kuehn, Darla Olson, Jerry Kuehn, Roxanne Laughton all of Rochester and Sherry Kelly of Rosemount; 18 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ceylon J. Kuehn, their baby son, daughter Lonna Baker, great grandson Hudson Dison; three sisters Fern Grossbach, Gail Vik, Rachel Fagerhaug and three brothers Max Sibley, Joe Sibley and David Sibley.
The funeral service for Audrey will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester, 11:00AM, Tuesday, July 14, 2015 with Pastor Norman Wahl officiating. Burial will be at the Mazeppa Cemetery.
Visitation will be in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, 1105 12th Street SE, Rochester, MN from 5:00PM – 8:00PM Monday, July 13, 2015 and one hour prior to the service at Bethel Lutheran Church on Tuesday.
Memorials are suggested to Bethel Lutheran Church.
