Condolences

The family of Richard “Dick” Lee Schulte has received the following condolences.

Dear Schulte family,

I am sorry to learn of Mr. Schulte's passing. I attended 4th grade at Dover-Eyota in the mid 1970's when Mr. Schulte was at the old elementary building in Eyota. There are two particular memories that stand out for me. As a 4th grade class we always thought it was great fun to have him come up to kick during kickball. Everyone backed way up but he was still able to kick the ball over everyone's head in center field and across the street so it would end up in the church yard. I can remember this like it was yesterday.

The other thing I appreciated was his reading to the class after lunch, I believe. It was always a book I could picture myself in and really enjoyed this.

I am a teacher/coach today in the Rochester area and appreciate those fine teachers like Mr. Schulte I encountered while a student at D-E.

Sincerely,

Wayne Dickie

Class of 1983

i was so sorry to see that Mr. Schulte had passed away. He was my 4th grade teacher and one of those that you always remember. He made all kids feel like they mattered. My condolences

Dear Family,

I am so saddened to learn of the loss of this kind gentleman.  Mr. Schulte was one of my teachers in the Old Elementary School in Eyota, upstairs on the West side of the hall with that big open air space with the gym down below.  I remember sitting on the floor in his room in a group as young kids do.  I recall him coaching us on personal safety to avoid sharing combs and hats when that time came around.  I remember his laughter, his walk, even the color of a couple of his shirts and slacks, and that he was JOYFUL!  He would classically tease me by saying "Good morning, Gretchen" every time.....  These memories go back 36 years!  Think of all those kids (and their families) that he impacted for the better.  I so wish I could have visited with him again.  I am so thankful to learn how he loved the Lord, and that he will be seen again.  Our family will be thinking and praying God's extravagant comforting care be surrounding you.  Tracy

My heart is with all of the Schulte family in the loss of Dick. He was a great friend and classmate and he is gone way too soon. Our whole family went to his dad as our dentist and he had the same quiet warm personality as his father....He will certainly be missed.

Bernie (Standaert) Obert

We are so sorry.....known Dick for over 45 years

We both taught with Dick, first in Dover when there was only 6 teachers in that building!

Russ was his roommate in Eyota with Eva

He was in our wedding in 1971

Oh the great stories we have!!!!!!

We loved him

Matt and Kelly, I am not sure you would remember us but I was a roommate of your mothers and your Dad spent time with us at my house.  I remember their wedding in Mapleton and what a good time we had.  It was one of my first exposures to a small Minn town.  We spent some fun times when you were young kids.  We ran into your Dad when he was working for the Clinic and had a nice chat.  Our thoughts and prayers are with all of your family.  To your Mom also.

Kelly,  What a beautiful tribute to your father.  He sounds like he was an incredible man.  I'm sorry for the pain that you and your family are experiencing at the loss of you father, grandfather and brother.  May you all find some peace from the people that God has put in your life at this sad time.

So sorry for your loss. Mr. Schulte was my 4th grade teacher at Dover-Eyota. He was definitely one of my favorite teachers. Prayers for the family and friends.

so sorry for the loss of your father Kelly and Matt. When I think of your dad, I picture him playing cards with all of my "outlaw" uncles in my Gradma Daly's fireplace room. I'm sure he will be deeply missed by many.

Matt, Kelly and Nancy , we are so sorry to hear of your Dads passing
