Lucille Elizabeth Fisher was born on February 1, 1920 in Spillville, Iowa, daughter of Anton and Anna Fisher. She graduated from Decorah High School, and upon graduating from Hamilton Business School in Mason City began employment in the communications department of Mercy Hospital in Mason City. She married Walter Weland on May 20, 1947 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church

Lucille was active in many projects in St. Joseph Church in Mason City, as well as being involved with the activities of her two daughters. In 2005 she moved to Rochester to be with her daughter Jean. She enjoyed the new environment of Resurrection parish in Rochester.

She is survived by her daughter Jean in Rochester, her sister Lorraine in Minneapolis, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Walter, her daughter Anne, her brother Leonard and sisters Lillian, Loretta, and Leona.

The funeral Mass will be held at Resurrection Catholic Church in Rochester, MN on Friday August 29 at 11:00am with Rev. Shawn Haremza officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior at the church on Friday.

The family of Lucille E. Weland has received the following condolences.

Dear Jean,  I just read of your mom's death.  You have my deepest sympathy.  I enjoyed my visits at your home when Anne and I were working on a project!  I also would see her at the switchboard at Mercy.  She will be missed.  Take care.  Sue

Jean:  I feel your sadness at your Mom's passing this week.  She is such a comforting part of my/our childhood(s).  I'm sure Sue, Jan, Willie and I will never forget her always being there.  Walt and Ann are there for her now.

Jean, I was so very sorry to read about your mom.  I know how much you will miss her!  I always think of her when I think of growing up in St. Joseph's parish.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.  Margaret

Jean,

I was so sorry to read about your mother's death.  She was a wonderful woman and so funny and full of life whenever I met her.  I  know you will miss her presence in your life.

I am sorry.

Ann Jones

Hey Jean, I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. Even though I didn't know her very well, you have always been so kind to our family and I know that we will do everything we can to help you through this. I wish I could be there for the funeral, but you will be in my prayers.
