Leo Francis Hagan

The funeral service for Leo Francis Hagan will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 17, 2016 in River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Rev. Lester Horntvedt officiating. Burial will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery Preston. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the funeral Home.

Mr. Hagan, 91, of Rochester died at his home Tuesday, December 6, 2016. Leo was born March 6, 1925 in Springfield, MA to Arthur and Marion (Whitten) Hagan.

After graduating from high school Leo joined the Navy and fought in WWII. After his discharge from the military he was a student at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence and later received his Masters Degree in Interior Design and Architecture at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Birmingham, MI. Leo married Adele Lloyd in 1953. They were married for 15 years and divorced. January 4, 1978 he married Nancy Gauger in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Leo moved to Rochester in 1969. He worked for IBM as their Resident Interior Architect from 1968 to 1985. Leo was a member of the IBM Retirees Club. Leo was an avid auction attendee. He loved to paint and also was an Arthur Miller Dance Instructor.

Leo is survived by his wife, Nancy and five children; Mark (Patti Mollica) Hagan of Nyack, NY, Elinor Hagan Jacobson (Nathan) of Rochester, Wayne Hagan of Bellingham, WA , Robert Hagan of Rochester and Jared Hagan of San Diego, CA. His grandchildren, Stephanie Jacobson Schmidt (Mark), and Jessica Jacobson Abolt (Mike), and great grandchildren Taylor Schmidt, Brody Schmidt and Brevyn Abolt.  Leo was preceded in death by his two sisters; Margaret and Ruth Hagan and his brother, Eugene Hagan.
