A memorial Mass for Irene Catherine Flicker will be at 11:00am on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Resurrection Catholic Church with Rev. Shawn Haremza officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery at a later date. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
Irene Catherine Flicker, age 84 of Rochester passed away at St. Marys Hospital on October 29, 2014. She was born on June 27, 1930 in Rice, Minnesota to Jake and Christine (Boser) Duscher.
During her 66 years of married life with Ardell, she was a dedicated, loving stay-at-home mom to her 6 children. After her children started school, she worked for the Rochester School System and Kahler Hotel in food services. Irene loved to camp and fish in Canada and area lakes. During their retirement years Irene and Ardell traveled to the southern states in their motor home before picking Mission, Texas as their home for 12 1/2 years. They returned to Rochester to spend more time with their grandchildren.
Irene’s last year was spent peacefully at Cottagewood Senior Community. We will always love and miss her.
Irene is survived by her husband Ardell Flicker; children Barb (Tim) Laska of Ft. Worth, TX, Bob Flicker of Meridian, ID, Carol (John) Fischer of Rochester, Rick (Jolene) Flicker of Rochester, Joel (Terrie) Flicker of Chatfield and Jay (Kate) Flicker of Elgin; sixteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; siblings, Donald (Edith) Duscher of Deer River, MN, Margie (Alvin) Marshik of Pierz, MN, Marilyn Clubb of Las Vegas, NV. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Roger Duscher; and grandson Matthew Flicker.

We are deeply saddened to hear of Irene's passing. She was a second Mom to alot of the Boy's in the day:). The GOOD Old days!!! Randy and I both know first hand how hard it is to lose a Parent, or Parents. Both of ours are gone. But at the time, the sadness is overwhelming and it's hard to believe you will ever get over the pain and loneliness, but we do and life goes on somehow.
Please know that you are in our thoughts and Prayers. Take care and let GOD comfort and heal All of you in this time of sorrow.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Irene last year as her nurse assistant. Irene always had a smile and was very pleasant. I learned lots about cooking from Irene. Both Tom and I miss all the "goodies" she would share with us. She would do the exercises everyday without complaining. We put many puzzles together last summer. She loved and was proud of all her children and grandchildren. I enjoyed hearing stories about all of you. She was the most delightful person to be with that I know.

My condolences to Uncle Ardell and family. Although I didn't get to see Irene a lot, she was always such a kind and happy woman, and it was very obvious how much she loved her family! Sorry I cannot make the services - my prayers are with you all.
