Linda M. Stoermann

Linda Marie (Pierskalla) Stoermann, age 73, of Avon, died Monday, May 5, 2025 at Benedictine Cold Spring (Assumption Community).  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, May 12, 2025, at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in St. Wendel, MN with the Rev. Gregory Mastey officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 A.M. – 11 A.M at the church on Monday.  Interment will follow at St. Columbkille Parish Cemetery.

Linda was the seventh of eight children to Anthony and Dorothy (Smith) Pierskalla on November 27, 1951, in St. Cloud, MN.  She was raised in rural Avon, where the family attended St. Columbkille Catholic Church.   Linda graduated from Holdingford High School in 1969 and married her high school sweetheart, Ken Michael Stoermann on August 22, 1970, at St. Columbkille Catholic Church.

Linda worked building freezers at Franklin Manufacturing in St. Cloud, selling Avon products door to door then working for over 30 years at Mills Fleet Farm in St. Cloud.  If asked, her main job was raising her 3 children and keeping the home and yard well maintained.

Linda took pleasure in the calmer simple joys in life, from drinking a coffee and watching the hummingbirds drink from a feeder; to spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed watching HGTV and the Hallmark Channel, traveling to see the National Parks in the Southwest US, going to the casino, car drives with Ken, reading a mystery novel and mostly listening to a good story!

Linda is survived by her; son, Shawn (Diana) Stoermann of New Ulm; daughters, Kim (Jeff) Gertken of Richmond and Kerrie (Alex Woodmun) Stoermann of Rochester; grandchildren, Ashley (Hunter) Blommer of Avon, Adam Gertken of Richmond, Kaden Stoermann of New Ulm and Dylan, Tyler, Eli and Parker Woodmun all of Rochester; sisters, Joan Silbernick of Little Falls and Carol (Gary) Spoden of Foley.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Ken Stoermann, parents and sisters Mary Lou (Eugene) Brinkman of Grey Eagle, Doris Kostreba of Holdingford, Judy Pierskalla of Avon, Sandra Pierskalla of St. Cloud and Brother Howard Pierskalla of St. Joseph.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to CentraCare Hospice and all the staff at Benedictine Community Living for the compassionate and loving care provided to Linda. Your support and kindness will always be remembered.
