Veda Jean Miller – Rochester
Veda Jean Miller, 81 of Rochester passed away peacefully on September 5, 2023, at Rochester West Health Services. Veda Jean Hunsley was born on June 21, 1942, in Denver Colorado, the middle child to Ralph and Elvita (Meyers) Hunsley.
Growing up in Alburquerque, NM, she had four brothers, Ronnie, Richard, Jerry, and Kenny. This is where she met her future husband, Rodney Michael Miller. The two were married on November 15, 1958. The couple moved to Rochester where they raised three sons. Veda worked at Bridgeman’s Ice Cream, Walmart Rochester for many years, and then at her son and daughter-in-law’s liquor store, Buddy’s, of Eyota, for her final working years. She enjoyed playing pool, traveling with Rod to visit relatives, casinos, warm locations, and watching her grandson Henry race in Motocross. She kept a clean house and enjoyed decorating to make it a warm and inviting place to be. She cherished spending time with her granddaughter Alyssa, her first grandchild.
She is survived by her sons Lonnie and Dennis (Kim) Miller of Rochester, grandchildren Alyssa (AJ Hawkins) and their new son, great-grandchild Hayden of Pine Island, MN, Henry of Arlington, TX, in-laws Anker (LaVonne) Miller of Kasson and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rod (2020) of 62 years, her son Garry, her parents, brothers, nephew Michael, and niece Cheryl.
The Funeral Service for Veda will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 1:00PM in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Pastor Karen Foster officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester with a reception to follow in the River Park Reception Hall.

We just found out that your Mom has passed. I am so sorry. Veda was always a 2nd "Mom" to me, Connie & Kathy. I am again truly sorry. She was such a kind soul & wonderful person. She will be greatly missed. Our deepest sympathies to your family. ❤️
