Travis John Winters

Travis John Winters, 46, passed away at his home in Winona on Tuesday, July 26th.

He was born on September 12, 1975 in Rochester, Minnesota to Gregory and Kailyn Winters.  He was a resident of Minnesota for most of his life.  He lived in Wisconsin for two years but thankfully never became a Packer fan.

He attended John Marshall High School, graduating in 1994 and then worked at various manufacturing jobs throughout his lifetime.

Travis was known for his kindness, sense of humor and infectious smile.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, biking, softball and good music.  He was an avid sports fan.  He loved all Minnesota teams but was especially fond of the Vikings.

He is survived by his mother, Kailyn (Dan) DeFrang; sister, Tiffany (Jamie) Ullius; step-brother, Nick (Jenny) DeFrang and his beloved nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gregory Winters; Uncle, David Johnson; Maternal Grandparents, Allen and Eunice Johnson and Parental Grandparents, Delmar and Beverly Donaldson.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 2nd at 11:00 and a visitation Monday, August 1st 4:00-7:00.  Both will be at River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home.

Please come casually dressed.  Travis loved Minnesota sports teams so wear a shirt or jersey if you have one.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial tributes be directed to the DeFrang family to assist with expenses.

A special thank you goes to MN Adult & Teen Challenge and Common Ground for all their help and care.  We appreciate all you did for Travis.

Travis buddy..When I heard the news I just couldn't believe it. You were such a gentle and kind man..I have so much I'd like to say but most importantly just know you are someone who I saw as a inspiration through out my struggles. I'm forever thankful that I met you in this chapter of my life...God, let this man finally rest in peace and welcome him with open arms, and free him of all pain and suffering..Give his family the strength they will need through this difficult time..Good bye my friend you will be solely missed.

So sorry you have to go through this. Loosing a child or Grandchild (like we did) is so hard. Our deepest sympathy to all the family.

Rest In Peace,Travis. Nice, welcoming, hilarious (in a dry way,) interested in every person and their journey. Great smile. An all around good person. I am sorry to hear this. Loves to his family. He is loved always❤️
