Steven Roy Bengtson

Steven R. Bengtson, 74, of Rochester, MN, died June 11, 2019 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester.

Steve was born November 28, 1944 in Rochester, MN to Lee Roy and Delta Marie (Bradish) Bengtson. He married Diane Kay Born on June 19, 1965 at St. Francis in Rochester. Steve began working at age 15. He had a variety of jobs, including the construction of Madonna Towers and committing 33 years to welding at Crenlo.

He enjoyed everything about the outdoors, including camping, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycle, and watching for wildlife. Steve’s eyes would twinkle and light up each time he cracked his mischievous smile. He loved his family and always shared that they were his proudest accomplishment in life.

Steve is survived by his wife, Diane; children, Tina (Butch) Bengtson, Troy (Kelly) Bengtson; grandchildren, Nicole, Olivia, Alexis, Ann (Jeremiah), and David; and great-grandchildren, Cooper, Caleb, Roman, Aubrey, and Noah. He is preceded in death by his parents; Lee Roy and Delta; mother-in-law, Marian, and father-in-law, Elmer; brothers, Charles, and William; and sister, Janet.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2019 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Woodward officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester. A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019 at the American Legion in Eyota.
