Sandra Barbara Butruff

Sandra (Bickford) “Sandy” Butruff, 75, of Rochester passed away early Tuesday morning, January 15, 2019 at The Commons on Marice Senior Living Community in Eagan, MN.

Sandy was born on February 23, 1943 in Cresco, Iowa to Phyllis and Arthur Bickford. Sandy’s dear childhood friend, Theresa Begin introduced her to her beloved Charles “Charlie” Butruff in the early 1960s after she moved to Rochester from Iowa and Charlie returned home from the Navy. She married Charlie on November 30, 1963. Sandy retired from the Mayo Clinic after a fulfilling 33-year career working in the business office.

Sandy enjoyed afternoon adventures at Treasure Island Casino, where she could be found playing her favorite penny slot machines with Charlie, quality time at the campground with her dear friends and spending weekends and summers with those she loved the most.

She is survived by three sons, Christopher (Glynis) Butruff of Austin, Tx., Eric (Susie Timm) Butruff of Scottsdale, Ariz., Chad (Sara) Butruff of Farmington; three granddaughters, Heather Mickelson, Trinity and Alexa Butruff; sisters, Kae and Colleen Bickford; brother, Loras (Nancy) Bickford; many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous loving friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Artie Bickford, Charles (Madonna) Bickford, Jimmy Bickford, John (Carol) Bickford; sisters, Sally Bickford, Madonna Stroud, Marilin (Bob) Osweiler, Anne Howard; her beloved husband, Charlie and several in-laws.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester. The memorial service will be held directly following the visitation at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Thomas Loomis officiating. Interment will be on Monday, January 21 during a private family service at Oakwood Cemetery.

Hello to Christopher, Eric and Chad.

Rhonda,Brett, Amanda and I are full of compassion to your hearts, in the loss of Sandy's

life.  Terry has let me know thru the years of Sandy's health.  It is so sad when one can not

know her loved ones.  She is asleep now and will awake when Jesus, our savior, come to take us with Him.

Study a New King James Version and you will be comforted by the Holy Spirit.  And He will be with you in your grief.

Love from all the family of Nancy Vagt (Don passed in 2000)

Family of Sandy Butruff-

Sorry to read of your loss.  I worked with Sandy in the early 60's in GS.  Then I lost contact with her until I read of her loss of Charlie. I sent her a note regarding her loss, and then we would meet for lunch, and had some nice visits until she moved to Eagan. I don't drive well in the cities, but did call her.

What a Neat person she was.  Always a smile and could pick you up when you were down.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

God Bless Each of you

Lois

Trinity and Alexa and of course the rest of your family !!!

I am so sorry for your loss....it is never easy to lose someone you love.  Hold her in your memories and she will be there forever.

LeeAnn Schneider (Mackenzie's mom)

We started first grade together then on to Rochester, then married friends who grew up together. The friendship grew as sisters. Camped as families, played bingo together and many trips to the casinos. Bye my dear friend Sandy.
