Robert “Bob” Brunett
Robert “Bob” Brunett, 78 of Rochester, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 with his wife by his side.
Bob was born on November 27, 1946 in Ames, IA to Robert and Alberta (Kreier) Brunett. The family moved to Wisconsin, and Bob graduated from Cameron High School. He then graduated from University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire with a degree in Materials Management. On September 2, 1966 he married M. Karla Johnson in Iowa. Shortly thereafter, Bob was drafted into the US Army and was deployed to Vietnam. He was honorably discharged and he and Karla lived in Wild Rose, Wisconsin until moving to Rochester in 1975. Bob worked at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester until his retirement in 2004. He loved woodworking, playing Bridge, and being with family. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife Karla of Rochester, his daughter Amanda (Shawn) Donovan, two grandchildren Morgan and Jonathon, his siblings Sandy (Jim) Carraher and Lynn (John) Gevens along with several nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and their son Robb.
The Memorial Service for Bob will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Zumbro Lutheran Church with Pastor Shelly Cunningham officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial of ashes will be in the Immanuel Reformed Cemetery in Belmond, IA at a later date.

Karla and family, I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Bob. I have such fond memories of growing up with you guys on 5th avenue & I always really enjoyed visiting with Bob. It meant a lot a couple of years ago when I was back in Rochester, MN and I visited the old neighborhood, and I ran into you guys at the Larson garage sale. He'll definitely be missed.
