Rita Barbara Lilly
Rita, 95, was born on December 2, 1929, in Albany, MN, and passed away on February 15, 2025, in Rochester, MN.
On October 8, 1988, Rita married, Irvin Lilly. Together, they shared many wonderful years traveling, sightseeing, dancing, playing cards with friends, and enjoying Sunday drives. Rita also dedicated many years to the Mayo Clinic before retiring in 1994.
In her later years, when getting around became more difficult, she found great comfort in the visits of her dear friend Julia from St. Pius, who brought her weekly communion, and Father Jim, whose visits were a source of great joy and faith for her.
Rita had a deep love for simple pleasures, especially sitting in the sunshine, where she found warmth and peace. Whether enjoying a quiet moment outdoors or basking in the golden rays streaming through a window, she cherished the beauty and serenity it brought her.
Rita’s greatest love was her family, and she took immense pride in her grandchildren and great-grandsons. Her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering support were cherished, and her family returned that love in abundance.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Irvin; her daughter, Cheryl; her grandson, Chad; her daughter-in-law, Karen; as well as her parents, brother, and sisters. She leaves behind her sister, children, grandchildren, and great-grandsons, who will forever hold her in their hearts.
Heaven has gained an angel, but we have lost a piece of our hearts.

Condolences
The family of Rita Barbara Lilly has received the following condolences.
Mader Family, very sorry for your loss.
Mader Family, you have my deepest sympathy.
Rita and family were our neighbors when I was growing up in Rochester. She was such a nice person to everyone. She played cards with my Mom and was friendly to all of us. My Mom told us how she married another neighbor and was very happy.
RIP Rita and condolence's to her kids that I remember at the bus stop.
I am so sorry to hear of Rita's passing. She was a wonderful friend to my late in-laws, the Angie and Lambert Lica family. And now, Lisa is a wonderful friend to my future daughter-in-law. I pray your family finds peace in your memories of Rita.
