Nancy Louann Anderson (Brandt), 87, of Rochester, MN, died peacefully on February 11, 2025 at Rochester Rehabilitation and Living Center-SNF.
Nancy was born March 10, 1937 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester to Louie and Aletta Brandt. She grew up on a farm near Rock Dell, MN. In September 1949, the family sold the farm and moved to Rochester. She graduated from Rochester High School in 1955 and married Hubert Anderson June 9, 1957. Nancy worked for Olmsted County Bank and Trust and Marquette Bank before retiring June 30, 1995. After retiring, Nancy went and worked for Hights and Randall Jewelry. Hubert and Nancy shared a love for travel and adventure. They spent many adventures with their children, traveling all over the United States and continued traveling in their motor home after their retirement. Hubert and Nancy made many memories visiting family and making friends wherever they went. They also enjoyed wintering in Texas for many years. Nancy loved playing cards and dominos. She had a knack for games involving numbers! She enjoyed bus trips with friends, going to concerts and events and was an accomplished bowler. Nancy loved spending time outdoors working in her flowers, gardening and never missing a day feeding the birds. Nancy was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church She had a zest for life, a tenacious spirit and was full of energy. She had a funny wit but also a calmness about her. She will be missed.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Tim) Smith of Mazeppa; son, Mark (Cindy Douglas) Anderson of Prairie Du Sac, WI and two nephews, Scott (Renee) Brandt and Jay (Becky) Brandt. Nancy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Hubert; parents, Louie and Aletta and by two siblings, John and an infant brother.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, 1105 12th St. SE, Rochester. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. The Rev. Anjanette Bandel will be officiating with burial at East St. Olaf Cemetery, Rock Dell, MN.
