Mary Margaret McCoy

Mary Margaret McCoy, 87 of Rochester died peacefully at Chosen Valley Care Center, in Chatfield on November 18, 2023 with her family by her side.

Mary was born in West St. Paul to Robert and Mary (Chapple) Russell on April 5, 1936.  She graduated from Sibley High School in West St. Paul.  After graduating high school Mary went to the School of Nursing through St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.  Mary worked as a Nurse at the Mayo Clinic.

She married Gordon McCoy on October 27, 1956 and they made their home in Rochester where they belonged to St. Pius X Catholic Church and they raised their family.  Mary enjoyed the simple things that life had to offer, and was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Mary is survived by; daughter Jody Magee (Kirk) of Dover, son Richard McCoy (Kris) of Rochester, son Kevin McCoy (Lori) of Victoria and daughter Patti Herber of Lewiston; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband Gordon, her son Steven, and her parents.

A funeral service will be held Friday, November 24, 2023 at 11am in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home 1105 12^th St. SE Rochester, visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.

Memorials are preferred to Seasons Hospice, Rochester MN.
