Lindsay A. Zaharris
Lindsay A. Zaharris was born on August 27, 1952, to parents Leonard and Eleanor. He was the middle child, with older siblings John and Sharon, and a younger brother, Mark.
Moving between many schools in his early years made it difficult for Lindsay to form lasting childhood friendships. Instead, he turned to books and study, developing a sharp and articulate mind while finding ways to occupy his time.
As he grew older, Lindsay discovered a passion for mechanics and drag racing. His hands proved expertly suited for working on machines and horsepower. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, purchasing his first Harley-Davidson Shovelhead in the early 1970s. Riding across the United States with the wind in his hair and not in the world.
Lindsay earned respect and a sense of community as a foreman at Moorehouse Printing in Austin, Minnesota. Later, he made his home in Owatonna, where he raised his son and lived out the rest of his life surrounded by friends and community.
He was well liked by his colleagues at Kwik Trip and by those at Owatonna Pet & Feed, where he formed many lasting connections.
He also cherished his two beautiful Papillon dogs , Jager and Mick, who adored him in kind.
Lindsay was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Eleanor; his brother, John; and his sister, Sharon.
He is survived by his son, Jesse; his ex-wife, Christine; his brother, Mark Zaharris; and his nephew, Kirk Zaharris.
Lindsay passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 4, 2026. He was cremated at Macken Funeral Home.
There will be no formal service. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
