Lance M. Pfrimmer

Lance Mark Pfrimmer

Lance Mark Pfrimmer, 19, of Rochester MN, died Saturday July 8th, 2023, in a drowning accident in Wisconsin.

Lance was born August 7, 2003, in Rochester MN, to Dale and Megan (Delatore) Pfrimmer. Lance was a graduate of Mayo High School and recently finished his sophomore year at University of Wisconsin, Stout.

Lance was a standout Track and Field/Cross Country athlete in high school and college. He qualified for the Minnesota State Meet in cross country in his senior year of high school and for the Division III National Indoor Track Meet his sophomore season at Stout.

Lance was an even better person than he was an athlete. He had a charismatic presence, a positive spirit, and a smile that could light up a room. He was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew, friend, and teammate.

He will be deeply missed by his loving family: parents, Megan and Dale Pfrimmer, and two sisters, Kendall and Lara Pfrimmer, all of Rochester, grandparents, Richard and LaDonna Delatore (Steubenville, Ohio) and Aurora Pfrimmer (Monterey Park, California). He is preceded in death by his grandfather George Pfrimmer.

We were blessed to have had him for the time that we had and are heartbroken that it was cut so short.

A Celebration of Life service for Lance will be held in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home at noon on Monday, July 17, 2023. Visitation will precede the service from 10AM- noon. Lunch will be served after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Lance Pfrimmer Runner Scholarship Fund through the Rochester Running Club. https://form.jotform.com/231916037287157

A livestream of the service will be available at www.mackenfuneralhome.com.

Condolences

The family of Lance M. Pfrimmer has received the following condolences.

So sorry for your loss, Pfrimmers. My name is Blake and I run for UW-Eau Claire and raced against Lance many times the past 2 years. I remember him being so happy and cracking jokes on the start lines of races which is a true testament to his character. I recently bought blue sunglasses and wear them on my runs everyday to honor his legacy. Your family will certainly be in my prayers, I think of Lance often. Rest in peace Lance.

Blake Vander Weide

Megan, Dale and family,

I'm so very, very sorry for your loss. Sending you love and wishes for peace and comfort. May his memory be a blessing.

We are so very sorry for your loss.  Although I did not know Lance, I enjoyed following his successes on Facebook.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

This information made me very sad, I have remembered memories which my Kimura visit in 2006. Miyuki and I stayed at your home for two days. Two very pretty sisters and cute Lance welcomed us and we immensely enjoyed a picnic in a park and a firing behind your house. At that time he was three years old, I found a picture on the top page of this website, I was able to find a glimpse of those days in those photos. I am very sad.

Thank you for your welcome us. Please take care of your health during this very difficult time. I am praying for you from far away in Japan.

Dale, Megan, and Family-

It is a challenge to find words in a time like this. Lance was a tremendous young man and it was such a pleasure to have spent several autumns together with him and your family. He always had an infectious smile on his face but had a tenacious drive that was brewing under the surface. No one worked harder than he did. Please accept our deepest sympathies, and our thoughts and prayers to you all during this difficult time.

The Plonka Family

My deepest sympathies to you and your family. I am so very sorry to hear this. Thinking and praying for you.

I offer my heartfelt condolences to Lance's family and community. He was in my physics class in the spring, and I could not ask for a better student. Cheerful, thoughtful, engaging, and clearly a happy person. I am heartbroken at his passing. Wishing peace to you all.

Dear Pfrimmer Family,

I and the staff of the Kimura Foundation were deeply saddened to hear about your son’s passing.

We would like to express our deepest condolences for your loss.

May his soul rest in peace.

Sincerely yours,

Kenji Kimura, Chairperson of Kimura Foundation for Nursing Education and all staff of Kimura Foundation

Dear Pfrimmer Family,

My deepest sympathy for your loss. Lance was truly an amazing guy, who left a lasting impact on all those who knew him. I had the pleasure of being on the same running team as Lance. He had a unique ability of creating an inclusive and supportive community within our team. Lance's legacy will continue to inspire others. Thinking of you all.

With deepest sympathy,

Tierra R

We are incredibly sorry to hear of Lance’s passing.

Know that you raised an incredible young man. We have only wonderful memories of Lance, such a caring and genuinely nice person, we are thankful to have known him.

May the best memories of Lance help you through this difficult time.

With our deepest sympathy, The Flannery’s (Mike, Micaela, Thomas & Gavin)

Pfrimmer Family,

My deepest sympathies go out to you all. I can't begin to imagine what you all are going through. I had not been in contact with Lance for quite a while, but I have fond memories of my time with him. When Lance and I were in 7th grade, I was on the Mayo track and field team with him. I had joined not knowing any friends on the team and I was very, very nervous to attend for the first couple weeks or so of practices. While in the locker room, Lance had the kindness to invite me and another lonely fella like myself for a game of tag with his friends before practice started. Lance instantly treated me like a friend and included me in the group when I felt isolated and lonely and his kind gesture and friendship are things that I'll always appreciate. That nervousness I felt before attending track practice turned into excitement because of the prospect of being able to pal around with Lance and my other track buddies who Lance had helped introduce me to. In my short time running cross country, I was one of the slowest runners on the team, but I vividly remember Lance always being on the sidelines to cheer on myself and others near the back of the pack. When I was out there mentally and physically exhausted while running those trails, there was something about seeing Lance on the sidelines and the energy he would bring to those meets that would give me an encouraging little boost and make me realize that I wasn't alone out there. Lance was a large part of why I felt so comfortable being a member of the Mayo High School community and I'd say he made growing up a little easier for all of us. Pfrimmer family, my heart goes out to you all and I hope the positive impact that Lance had on myself and others in the community was felt in this message.

Sincerely,

Joseph Kappler

Dear Pfrimmer Pfamily,

I am shocked and saddened about the passing of Lance. Words cannot adequately convey nor express my sympathy at this time. I know how much Lance means to all of you. I know how proud you are of him.

It is no surprise that Lance comes from such a wonderful and supportive family. Please know that I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time and will continue to support you in every way.

Dear Pfrimmer Family,

We have all of you on our hearts and in our thoughts and prayers. I remember when Nels first told us about Lance and that he was the nicest person Nels knew. Nels had us laughing the other night as he shared so many fun memories. We especially loved the one where Lance made Nels mad because Lance kept hitting him square in the face during a Nerf gun fight. Lance will forever remain a gift to Nels. It is a privilege to be able to have met Lance and know what an incredible impact he had and will continue to have on our son, Nels, and everyone in his life. Godspeed in your heavenly life Lance. ?

In God's tight grip,

Joel and Polly Trandahl

Megan, Dale & family, my heartfelt sympathies to you and your family. Sending love to you; it sounds like Lance was a really special guy in every way.

I am incredibly saddened to hear of Lance's loss. I met Lance in College Physics II this past January, we sat next to each other and became friends. Lance and I both share the same major and I was looking forward to being a classmate with him again. Every morning at our 8 am class we shared, Lance would greet me saying "Good morning Amanda!", his great inviting mood was a stark comparison to a typical college student's at 8 am. At the end of each lecture, he would leave saying "See you tomorrow Amanda!", and I still have his voice ringing in my ears.

Beyond his kindness, he was driven and caring which I could clearly see in those mornings we spent together. I will continue to look for Lance as I walk through the UW-Stout campus, and I will miss him each day.

I am wishing love and peace to his family as this loss must be devastating. Your son was a true light I was fortunate enough to experience. Please rest easy Lance, I look forward to seeing you again.

To the family of Lance Pfrimmer,

I am in shock to read about Lance's passing and send my deepest condolences to you on this loss.

Lance was one of my students this past year at UW-Stout. He was a treat to have in class, always positive and eager to learn. I will miss seeing his smiling face on campus.

May your cherished memories of Lance bring you comfort.

What a truly amazing young man you have raised.  While I have not met Lance personally, I always enjoyed hearing Dale and Megan share about their children.  It is a deep love they have for each of them, and it truly shines through their stories shared over the years.

I have never met Lance, but just from talking with Kendall and Mr. & Mrs. Pfrimmer I could tell what a great man he  was. They all spoke so highly of him as a person, student, athlete, and friend. I know he was so very loved. I am terribly sorry for your loss, and wish you all the best.

I never had the pleasure of having Lance as a student, but I wanted to offer my condolences as an instructor at UW Stout. The loss of a child is always a tragedy. My thoughts are with you during this time.

Ruth Brokaw Webb & Family

Dale, Megan & family,

I am so sorry to hear of the recent loss of your son, Lance.

I send you much love during this time for your family.

All the best,

Sharon McGill108

Nothing I can say on behalf of the Dunn Family will ease your pain enough to matter.  Nor will we be able to fully express the joy that Lance brought to us.  Yet.... know that I am honored to have known his sprit.  I was proud my sons where associated with him.  I fondly remember his work ethic and team focus when we had the time to be together in youth football.  Seeing him be a mentor to Sam on the Cross Country Team made Sam feel like he belonged.

I pray your hearts are full knowing the life he did live, while short, was so meaningful.  He truly gave his all to everyone.

Be proud Pfrimmers and hold all those positive memories always close.

With appreciation and love,

Andy

Megan, Dale and family

There are no words I can find to express my condolences for your loss.  You are all in my thoughts and my prayers.  I hope that the pain you feel now will be lessened and the bright beautiful memories of your son and brother will take over your hearts.  Bless you all.

Dale and Megan and family:

I am thinking of you and praying for some small comfort as you mourn Lance's sudden death. From what I understand, he touched so many in his short life.  He sounds a lot like his wonderful parents!

Words are inadequate to express my deepest sympathy,

Jakie AP

Dale, Megan, and family:

We're deeply sorry for your loss.  Losing a teenage son is an unimaginable pain, and we can only offer our heartfelt condolences.  Remember that you are not alone, and there are people around you who care and want to help you through this journey of grief.  May your cherished memories of Lance bring you solace, and may you find strength in the love and support of your family and friends.  Hugs to all of you!

Jay & Vickie

I am incredibly sorry for your loss. I was Lance's art teacher during his 7th and 8th-grade years at Willow Creek. I remember Lance as a very smart, kind boy, who was more mature than his classmates (which is saying a lot for middle schoolers!). I know his other teachers felt the same way. Lance, you exited this earth far too soon, and we can only imagine what an amazing young man you would continue to grow into.

Dale & family,  I'm so sorry for your loss.  Thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time.  Our deepest sympathy.

Our deepest condolences go out to the Pfrimmer family.  Lance certainly made a difference on the cross country and track team at Stout.  God has a special role for him now.

Dear Dale and Family,

I am so very sorry for the tragic loss of your son.  My heart aches for all of you.  I sincerely hope that the love and support of your friends and family help ease the pain.

Gloria DeBusman
