Kathleen A. Hines
Kathleen Rathke Hines passed peacefully, with her children at her side, at Seasons Hospice in Rochester, Minnesota on October 8, 2015 at the age of 72, whilst valiantly fighting pancreatic cancer.
Kathie is survived by her Children, Steven Hines of Minneapolis, and Nicole Hines of Rochester; Grandchildren (Nicole’s children), Lauren Murphy, Owen Murphy, Eleanora Murphy, and Finnian Murphy; Former Son-in-Law, Christopher Murphy; Siblings, John Rathke, Stan Rathke, Ronnie Rathke, Allyn Rathke (Connie Rathke), and Janyce Meyers (Fred Meyers); Kathie is preceded in death by Granddaughter Elisabeth Murphy, Brother David Rathke and his wife Charlotte Meilander Rathke, Sister-in-Law Carmen Rathke, and Parents, Conrad and Evelyn Rathke.
Kathie was born on March 23, 1943 in Winona, Minnesota to Conrad and Evelyn Rathke. Kathie attended St. Francis of Assisi and St. John the Evangelist grade schools in Rochester, Minnesota, and she graduated from Lourdes High School in 1961. Kathie worked at IBM for many years before pursuing an incredibly successful career as a realtor for Burnet Realty and Coldwell Banker Burnet Realty.
A visitation is scheduled on Sunday, October 11, from 3-5 PM in River Park Chapel of Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, Minnesota; a funeral is scheduled for 11 AM on Monday, October 12, at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Rochester, Minnesota. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery. Father Thomas Loomis will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Kathleens’s life.

John and family, deepest condolences to your family. I enjoyed meeting Kathleen and other family members during John's summer bratwurst parties. I will never forget her eyes which always had a sparkle in them. I was in Alaska the past 1.5 weeks returning last evening and I'm sorry I was not able to attend the wake or funeral.

Kathy has been a friend of our family for many, many years. During her years of selling real estate, she has sold many a house for us. She was especially thoughtful to her clients; always sending greeting cards for every occasion you could think of. It always put a smile on our face!! Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family at this very difficult time. She was an extraordinary, kind, warm hearted person, and will be missed a lot.

Very sad to hear of Kathy's death. Will carry fond memories of our time working together at IBM. Always admired her independent spirit, classy look and love of her family. She will be missed . We send our sympathy to Nicole and Steve and family.
