Justin E. Lewis

Justin Evan Lewis- Rochester

Justin Evan Lewis, 34, of Plainview Minnesota, passed away on Apil 8, 2024 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester Minnesota.

Justin was born on June 16, 1989, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. Justin, known by many as Jay, graduated from Kasson- Mantorville High School in 2008. Following graduation Justin went on to get his degree in accounting from Winona State. At the age of 24 Justin was given a double lung transplant that gave him a new life that inspired him to pursue a career as a surgical technician to help others in need of transplant. By 2022 Justin had worked in many different surgical departments at the Mayo before finally fulfilling his dream to work in the transplant team at the Mayo Clinic helping others like himself to receive life saving transplants. His own transplant lasted 10 years, which by all accounts was a major success.

Justin was an amazing personality that enjoyed playing with his two dogs, cat, and a handful of chickens. He was an avid board game enthusiast which he loved playing with friends and family. His other hobbies included hiking, exercise, gardening, crafts, and general tomfoolery.

Justin is survived by his parents Monica and Keith, his brothers Isaiah and Adam, his significant other Tonya Laden, and her children Draylyn, Derik, Trey, Tristan, and Gabriel.

The memorial service will be held in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home on Thursday, April 11th, at 1:00 p.m. There will be a gathering before the service at 12:00 p.m. for friends and family.
