Jennifer J. Spencer
Jennifer Jane (Levine) Spencer, a beacon of warmth and kindness, ended her journey with leukemia peaceful, April 28, 2025, in Rochester, Minnesota. Born in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, on August 26, 1955, Jennie’s life was a vibrant tapestry woven with joy that radiated from everything she touched.
To all who knew her, Jennie was a source of light, greeting everyone—friends, family, and even strangers—with a genuine smile. Her joy was evident in the simple pleasures she cherished: the beauty of her flowers and garden, the hours spent playing games, the intricate artistry of her quilting, the peaceful moments spent bird watching, the creativity expressed through her painting, and the delicious meals she lovingly prepared.
Jennie’s pursuit of knowledge led her to Waldorf College, where she earned her BA in Business. Her time there was transformative, fostering not only academic growth but also deep, lasting friendships and a newfound confidence. She embraced every experience with enthusiasm, including her spirited participation in the college band, where she proudly played her flute alongside classmates many years her junior. Music was a lifelong passion, and her memories from the Waldorf band were among the many stories she shared with animation and joy.
Throughout her final moments, Jennie was surrounded by family and the unwavering love and support of her devoted husband, William, who stood steadfastly by her side until the very end. Their bond, which spanned over 51 years, remained unbreakable and continued to deepen with each passing day. His spirit and joyful heart were a constant source of strength for her, and together with their shared faith provided immense comfort. The cornerstone of Jennie’s joyous life was her unwavering faith in Christ.
Jennie’s legacy of faith, love, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who survive her: her devoted husband, William; her children, Becky, Emily, and Adam (Justin); her Danish daughter Maggie; her sisters, Judy (Jerry), Abigail (David), and Jackie; her cherished grandchildren, Marcelous and Cyclone Jack; and countless nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Jennie was welcomed into eternal peace by her parents, James and Marylin; her sister, Nancy; and Brother-in-law, Dean.
A service to celebrate Jennie’s life will be held from 12:00-3:00pm, Friday May 16th 2025, at Waldorf College in the Salveson Ballroom, in Forest City, Iowa. See campus map here: https:// www.waldorf.edu/about/campus-map.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jennie’s name to Mayo Clinic Cancer Research https://give.mayoclinic.org/give/609586/#!/donation/checkout, or the Waldorf Lutheran College Foundation https://www.waldorf.edu/alumni-friends/waldorf-lutheran-college- foundation/giving reflecting her spirit of generosity and love for her community.

I will miss you. You always found joy in life, and I admired that so much. You are one of the most naturally kind, compassionate and positive people I've ever known. So happy to have known you.
Jenny was a dear dear lady. And I got to know her through Mahjong and it was very enjoyable! She was a positive woman!
Though physically you may be gone, the effects of your warm and gentle spirit will live on in the many hearts you touched. I feel fortunate to have been one of them. I know that you will still offer your laughter and joy to the world, from wherever that may be, but here you will be missed very much. My heart goes out to your family.
