Bernita Ruth “Penny” Mohn Rosenblad

Bernita Ruth “Penny” Mohn Rosenblad, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, March 11, 2026. True to her nature, she was found resting in her favorite chair—a quiet conclusion to a long and vibrant life.

Born on April 8, 1928, in West Concord, Minnesota, to Vern and Ann Day, Penny grew up with a spirit of determination that would define her career and personal life.

In 1956, Penny married Stanley Mohn. Together, they became a powerhouse team in the local real estate and construction industry. Far from being a silent partner, Penny was deeply involved in the development of land and the construction of fine homes. Her eye for detail and business savvy helped shape the communities they built together until Stanley’s passing in 1999.

In 2001, Penny found companionship again when she married Milton Rosenblad. They shared eleven wonderful years together before his death in 2012.

Penny was a pillar of the Day family and will be deeply missed by those she leaves behind. She is survived by her brothers, Dewey Day of Rochester and Dick Day of Owatonna, along with many beloved nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

The family would like to share a special thank you to Cindy Freicks for all her special care over the last 12 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Stanley and Milton; her sisters, Lavone (Don) Bowman and Loraine (Ed) Kohler; and her brother, Jack (Crystal) Day.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2026, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Fr. Bob Horihan officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Condolences

The family of Bernita Ruth “Penny” Mohn Rosenblad has received the following condolences.

Penny, the Lord made sure we saw each other one last time at Mayo Clinic.
May you rest with your Maker in peace now. Love you Debbie

To the Day, Mohn, and Rosenblad Families, our deepest sympathy from the Schulte Family.   My first experience with Penny was receiving a phone call.  I was the owner of Just Rite Foods.   It started with, "Young man, this is Penny Mohn and I need some groceries delivered to my house."  She was going to be coming back from Florida.  "I will be in to pay you when I get back."  I said, "OK."  That started our relationship.  My wife and I enjoyed Penny's visits over the years.  She was very kind and friendly.  I waited every year for Penny's phone call.  She was a very special person.  She will be missed.

Thoughts and prayers,

Sandi & Patrick Schulte
