Andrus Michael Jensen

Andrus Jensen, 35, of Rochester, MN, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019.

Andrus was born August 4, 1983 to Michael and Teresa (Brill) Jensen in Rochester, MN. He graduated from Century High School in 2001. He later graduated from the University of Minnesota with his Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Andrus was engaged to be married and very much enjoyed being a dad to his fiancé’s daughter.

He was a good artist and musician. Although trained as a nurse he found his avocation to be repairing and painting people’s homes – he had started his own business to meet that goal. He was excited about growing his business, was looking forward to getting married and expanding his family, and eventually moving back into his childhood home in Rochester.

He is survived by his parents, Michael and Teresa Jensen; his sister, Kirsten Jensen; fiancé, Mary and her daughter, Amry; and his grandparents, James and Mary Jensen, and Bill and Jo Ann Brill; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

His family and friends now experience a huge hole in their world that wasn’t there just a few days ago.

Memorials are preferred to the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids.

Memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Zumbro Lutheran Church with Rev. Vern Christopherson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Condolences

The family of Andrus Michael Jensen has received the following condolences.

Dear Mike, Teresa, Kirstin, and Amy

Words are not enough to convey my deepest sympathy at such shocking and unexpected news. I only met Andrus a few times and know I saw only a small part of who he was (particularly as the house was filled with people from his dad's work!), but I remember him as a gentle and kind man. The world seems senseless at times. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and I send you strength.

Dear Mike and Teresa,

We are saddened to hear about your loss. Our deepest sympathy, thoughts, and prayers are with you during this time of tribulation. We pray you are given the strength and support to make it through.

Asem

We have received pictures of Andrus as he was growing up over the years, mostly school yearbook photos or graduation photos. But our personal memories of him are rooted in pictures we took during our few family vacations to Minnesota many years ago, pictures that show the face of a young, happy child who has his whole life ahead of him and not a care in the world.

Of course, many years have passed since then, and we have all grown older and suffered through the various ups and downs of life. I dare say Andrus may have suffered more than his fair share of downs and that, sadly, is why I must now post a condolence on this website instead of wishing him a happy birthday on some other website on the occasion of his 36th birthday, which would have been in early August.

As we remember the life and grieve the death of Andrus from afar, we will be holding tightly to our old photos of him and his young, smiling face, for these are our best memories of him, and will now be our most cherished memories of him, bringing a smile to our lips even as, on this sad occasion, they also bring tears to our eyes.

God bless

David, Yumiko, and Andre Jensen

Dr.  Jensen- Your family has been in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. I can't imagine the loss you're feeling at present and lean on your friends and family for support- Fondly, Marcia Mahlman

Andrus and I lived near each other growing up and we'd frequently spend time at each others' houses. His friendship was a big part of my childhood. I am going to miss him terribly.

To the Jensen family,

So sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of growing up as your neighbours, and playing with Andrus (and Kirsten) as kids.

All my love to you and yours during this difficult time.

Dear Mike and Teresa, I know that only God fully knows your pain and sadness in this moment. I pray that his grace will be sufficient to provide peace and comfort through the grieving process. He is a healer and will comfort your hearts if you turn to Him every day. With love, Yourka

Your handsome son left you like a flame suddenly extinguished in your life; but his fond memory will never fade and the void in your hearts remain for ever. You will continue serve humanity as physicians and scientist. We all need you and of course your talentd daughter. Our heartfelt condolences. Sree and Anu

I am at a loss for words during this sad and difficult time. Please know that I am thinking of you and praying for peace and comfort. Andrus was a special guy and my fond memories of him won’t be forgotten.

I don't know if this is the same Teresa Jensen NP that I worked with in Urgent Care Center.  I am so sorry for your loss. I have a daughter the same age and I can't imagine losing her. I facilitate a NAMI support group weekly in Kasson. Know that you are in my prayers.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy for your loss. It's unimaginable what all your family is going through. Our thoughts and prayers are with you

My mother-in-law was a nanny for Andrus and his sister when they were small.  She talked about Andrus often, what a smart and sweet little boy he was. She loved him like he was her own.   I can’t begin to know the pain his family is feeling, but I know she has welcomed him with open arms and I hope that brings you some comfort.  So very, very sad for the loss of your beloved Andrus.

Dear Mike, Teresa, and Kirsten,

We are shocked and saddened to hear about your loss. It sounded as though Andrus was really getting settled on a promising path. We are sorry his life ended so abruptly. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. May the memories you have of him bring you comfort and may he rest in peace.

Sincerely,

Sylvia, John and family

Lina and I cannot express to you the depth of the sadness that has gripped our family in the face of this heart-wrenching loss. We grieve for the loss of Andrus' young promising life, and for the cross of his loss that you two, and the rest of the family,  have to bear. We are consoled by the trust that we have that Andrus is safe in the Hands of his Loving Heavenly Father, and that you, with the faith that you have, will put your hands in God's Caring Loving Hands, and He will be with you, comforting and sustaining,  as you  traverse this most burdensome road.  We are away from Rochester, cannot be there to hold you, but we will be in thoughts and prayers with you throughout  this most agonizing time. Lina and Charlie Abboud

We are so very sorry to hear about the passing of Andrus. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dr. Jensen, deeply sorry for your loss. Words fall short of expressing my sorrow for that. May the peace and sweet that comes from the memories of your love comfort you and your family now and in the days ahead. Always be right here with you.

Mike and Teresa and family,  I am so very sorry for your loss. While I know there are no words adequate to comfort you, I do know that Christ himself intercedes for us when our hearts do not have words. I pray for peace, strength, rest and grace for each moment for all of you. May all of your memories be sweet ones. Much love to you.

I'm so sorry for your loss and prayers go out to you and your family. I went to hs with him and as well grad in his class.I'm just in shock what happened to my dear classmate.
