Wayne H. Kent

The funeral for Wayne H. Kent will be at 1:00pm on Thursday April 23, 2015 at the River Park Chapel, Macken Funeral Home with Pastor Linda Helberg officiating. Burial will be in West St. Olaf Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Wayne H. Kent passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at St. Marys Hospital on April 20, 2015

He was born on August 21, 1936 in Webster City, Iowa to James and Dorothy (Weedman) Kent. He married Cheryl Elaine (Christopherson) Kent on September 21, 1963 at East St. Olaf Church in Rock Dell, MN. He loved fishing, dancing, playing with his grandchildren and making everybody laugh. He was very easy going and well liked by all who met him. He was employed at Crenlo for 30 plus years before retiring.

He is survived by his two children; Christopher (Iuliia) Kent of Viola and Tiffany Kent of Chester; four grandchildren, Raul, Jesus, Jose, Arianna; sisters Claudia (Jerry) Erickson of Park Rapids, MN and Maxine (Leo) Smith of Spring Valley. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Cheryl Kent; one brother and three sisters; one granddaughter, baby Cheryl.

To the family -  I had the pleasure of helping your dad over the years at the bank, I am no longer with the bank and was saddened to see that your dad passed.  He was always a joy to help and he truly loved his family.  My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Wayne will forever be missed by all who knew him. He was such a witty man with an infectious smile, and a positive aura  that lifted those around him. I will never forget  the great hugs he gave, and he was always smiling thru the rain.
