Dear Tom, Ben and Paul,

Sue was truly one of the most lovely human beings I have ever met and known. We will all miss her so very, very much, and are so very sorry for your loss. We are struggling with this shocking, devastating news that we learned about yesterday. She was such a special person for all of us, and especially for Greta. The kindness, love and support she showed for Greta will never be forgotten. They had such a unique and special relationship.  We feel so blessed Sue shared her incredible gifts and talents with Greta and our family for 4 wonderful years. I admired everything about Sue, and learned so much from her.  I hope and pray that the support of family, friends and faith will help all of you through this most difficult time.

Love and blessings,

Julie, Tim, Greta and Ashley

Tom and Sons,

Sue will be greatly missed. I will always hold her in my heart. She had such a beautiful soul. I looked up to her in many ways. She was a great mentor and friend. I pray for your family during this difficult time. May peace be with you.

Tom,

Although many years have passed since college days, I am saddened to hear of Susie's death.  I extend my condolences to you and your family.  May God bless you with strength and healing.

To the Huey & Dusek Families:

I was so sad to hear of Susie's passing.  I'm still a bit stunned.  I'm sitting here trying to figure out how I am going to tell my Dad about one of his all-time favorite students.  He's out of town so I'll have to wait a few days.  He will be so upset.

Susie was kind to EVERYONE in High School.  She was a joy to be around and had such an infectious laugh.  The last time I saw her, a bunch of us were sitting around the kitchen table at her parent's house and just howling about our high school misadventures.  We were all about naieve during those years and it was funny to hear all the different things each of us remembered or had forgotten.

There is a saying that someone sent to me when my Mom died and it has given me such comfort over the years.  It's actually part of a Native American Legend and goes something like this:

"Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but openings in the heavens made by our loved ones to let us know they are happy."

I have no doubt as we all look into the stars at night that Susie's will be radiating down on all of us and she'll be signing up a storm!

I'll never forget Susie.  She was one of the kindest, sweetest and most sincere people I have ever met.  What a great addition to Heaven she will be.

Dear Tom, Ben and Paul,

My sympathy to all of you. What an amazing lady! Full of smiles and a joy for life! What a privilege to have known her! She helped me out so much my first years teaching.

I am disappointed that I learned of Sue's passing a day too late. I would have loved to have been there as you celebrated her beautiful life.

I am so sorry for your pain and loss. You are a beautiful family. Live each day by the example she showed you everyday - one full of smiles, joy, kindness, friendship and a love for the Lord. Treasure the memories and hold each other close.

Sue has forever touched my heart. Please know that I am praying for you all.

Love, Amy Nelson (and Bill and family)

Ben and all of the Dusek family - I am so sorry to hear about Susie and I know this must be so difficult for your family.  Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.  The Campbell family have always felt close to the Duseks and as you know, we have alot in common.  Unfortunately I just now heard about your loss and that the service was earlier today in Rochester, as I may have been able to attend, since I live in Twin Cities.  Wishing you all peace and comfort,  Jeannie Campbell

Dear Tom, Ben and Paul  My Dad just called me yesterday to tell me about Susie, my dear and precious friend.  I would have tried to make the funeral if at all possible.  She will me missed in my life as our lives had so many memories and as I look back all of them good.  We spent many days together in high school with many of the same interests.  We had the same friends and were always there for each other.  Then when we went to UND we spent our freshman year together in the dorm as we did not want to be apart.  I remember our first night in the dorm after our parents left and we decided to eat everything our parents had sent with us so our diet would start the next day; boy were we sick!  I also remember  she was in my wedding on August 25th, 1978 and then  she and Tom got married the next week-end.  I did not think I had anything to do in the wedding so Bill and I barely made it in time to see both of you march down the isle.  I then found out I was suppose to be at the guest book and was suppose to be there early.  Oh as newly weds we tend to forget things but then as people in our 50's  we tend to forget things also.  I could go on and on.  Through my tears I want you to know how much Susie meant to me and how pround I am to have been her friend.  God will be blessed in heaven to have such a person with him and just think how better the music will be.  Love Nancy  Haunz

Dear Tom, Ben and Paul - We were saddened to read about the loss of Sue.  Our hearts and prayers go out to you and your family at this difficult time.  Sue will be missed by so many, as she touched many lives over the years.  We have so many fond memories we shared as couples: The Mystery Club doing nite golfing at Rochester Golf and Country Club, meeting at church, and going out for brunch.  Dinners out and lovely partys and gatherings at your  home.  Catching up on each others lives, and our childrens' lives at Mail Boxes Etc.  The funny escapades with our dogs-your Dolly and our Molly!  Sue and I took a day trip to Northfield to celebrate her birthday in January, and drove thru a snowstorm, and icy conditions and none of the antique stores were open...it was Monday.  Sue was so loving and generous, and had a genuine concern for others.  She was warm, kind, and  a joy to be around.  She will be greatly missed, and will live close to our hearts forever.  We Love You, Michael and Nancy Plute...thanks for the memories!!!

We are so sorry to hear of Sue's death.  She blessed our lives and those of our children with her joy, her love of music and her faith in God.  Thank you for sharing her with us.  We will pray for you as you adjust to life without her physical presence.  However, we are sure she'll be with you in spirit and joining the angels in praying for those of us left behind.  God bless you in your sorrow.

She was a such wonderful, and caring person. My thoughts and prayers are with Tom, Ben, and Paul. She was a special lady and I was extemely fortunate to have known her.

Our family will always remember Sue with a smile. She was full of joy every time I saw her.

Take good care of each other,

Gayle and Lori, Eric and Scott

I will forever be grateful for Sue's wonderful friendship.  I am so sorry for your loss.  Wrap yourself in the love that surrounds you.

Dear Tom, Ben, and Paul,

We are so sad for all of you. Sue could make us smile like no one else. We loved her and miss her already. Take gentle care of each other as you learn to live without Sue's physical presence in your lives. She will always be with you through your treasured memories.

Dear Huey family,

My thoughts go out to you and your family.  As one of Mrs. Huey's students at St. Pius, we were always greeted with a hug and warm smile.  Even now, 15 years later, she would still give me a hug when she saw me around Rochester.  She was a wonderful teacher and will be greatly missed.
