Robert “Bob” Grabko

Robert “Bob” Grabko, 87, of Rochester, passed away at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester on Monday, February 13, 2017.

Bob was born on June 1, 1929 in Rochester to John and Gertrude (Adams) Grabko. He married the love of his life, Marcella Stecker, on December 29, 1956.  They were partners in life for 60 years.

Bob was a graduate of Lourdes High School and was a Lourdes Foundation supporter.  He attended Rochester Community College and the University of Minnesota.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in a MASH unit during the height of the Korean War.  Bob was a lifelong businessman operating alongside his wife in an antique and appraisal business for many years.  He was a lifelong fisherman, enjoyed time with family, travel, wildlife and outdoors and particularly at their north country cabin near Pine River, Minnesota.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Marcy; three sisters, Jean (John) Liegl, Joan (Ken) Brown, both of Rochester and Kathleen (Bob) Lushanko of Scandia, Minnesota and many beloved nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gertrude Grabko, and his brother, Richard Grabko.

Bob had a love of life and a great sense of humor and personality that endeared him to all that met him. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 18, 2017. Visitation will be held one hour to prior to the Mass at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to St. Pius X Catholic Church or Paws and Claws Animal Shelter.

Condolences

The family of Robert “Bob” Grabko has received the following condolences.

The loss of a loved one is a very sad and heavy load to bare. May you find comfort at Acts 24:15 "And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous." Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Marcy and family,

My sympathy to you and your family. I remember the fun talks we had at the Green Meadows WF bank when I was your Personal Banker. Also visiting with you on your antique showing at the Graham Area.

I hope you remember me and the great chats we had. I will be thinking about you but sorry that I can not be at the funeral for I have another commitment at that time.

God's Blessing to you
