Peggy Ann Kahl

Rochester – Peggy Ann Kahl, 53 of Rochester, died Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at her home of lung cancer.

Mrs. Kahl was born on April 12, 1956 in Fairmont Minnesota.  She has resided in Rochester since 1985.  She married Jerry Lee Kahl on February 27, 1982 in Rochester.  Mr. Kahl passed away on February 9, 2004.  At the time of his death he was employed with Hiawatha Homes of Rochester.

Mrs. Kahl was a Unit Coordinator at Hiawatha Homes for 20 years as well as a Program Coordinator at Ability Building Center.

She was a trainer for the Red Cross.  She was an active member of the Rochester Widow’s Group.  She was also a member of CIVITAN as well as a member St. Francis Catholic Church.  She also managed the Sundowner Drum and Bugle Corps. in Eau Claire Wisconsin for five years.

Survivors include one son, Jason Kahl of Rochester; 2 daughters, Jennifer Kahl of Rochester and Kimberly Kahl of Stewartville; six grandchildren, Joshua, Jonathan, Jacob, Kelsey, Evan and Lidia; 2 great-grandchildren, Kaleigh and Tiara; one sister, Kimberly (Doug) Ward of Stewartville.  She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, her mother Eleanor Kahl and her brother Bryan Kahl.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 11, at 10:00AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.  Friends may call, Thursday, September 10, from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Macken Funeral Home and a 1/2 hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.
