Sending my condolences to the family of Muriel. May your faith and memories comfort you.

I met Muriel one very cold and blustery day in early November 2002. I had knocked on her door to visit with her about my run for State Representative. She was so kind and invited me in. We had a wonderful visit and she said she could tell I was freezing which I was.  Later  a beautiful hand made doily of my name arrived with a lovely note from Muriel. I think of Muriel when I drive by her home on 14th St. and was sad to find she no longer lived there. I now see she lived at Sam Beth where also did my father, who also recently died and shares the same funeral date as Muriel. I'm in the Senate know and often tell the story of Muriel Melby's kindness. The doily is framed and her lovely note is taped on the back. Our world needs more Muriels.
