Marie E. Wilson

Marie Elsie Wilson, 68, of Rochester, passed away on Thursday, January 24th 2013 at St Marys Hospital.

Marie was born in Winona, MN to Harry & Margaret Cox on January 9th, 1945. She graduated from St. Charles High School in 1962. Marie married Allen Henry Wilson on August 26th, 1967. Her life revolved around her large network of immediate and extended family & friends. She loved attending gatherings, big and small, near or far, to be with those that she cared so much about. Traveling with her family, cooking with her children & granddaughters, attending school recitals, getting together for holidays and events, and watching Vikings football are just a few of the many pastimes that she enjoyed. Loving, supporting & caring for her family and friends was the most important thing in life to Marie, she was always there to listen, chat and offer her helping hand.

Marie is survived by her husband, Allen; daughter, DeAnna (granddaughters; Britanni, Skylar & Ashlinn); son, Dennis (wife Stacy, granddaughter Grace); brothers, Myron Cox, Mike (wife Kay) Cox & Melvin Cox.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harry; mother, Margaret; sisters Gladys, Marion, Laura-Mae & Marilou; brother, Merle; and infant son, Dean.

The funeral service for Marie will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, January 27th at the Zumbro Lutheran Church (624 3rd Avenue S.W. Rochester, MN) with Pastor Shelley Cunningham officiating.  A visitation will be Sunday, January 27th at the Zumbro Lutheran Church starting at 1:00pm.  Marie’s burial will take place on Monday the 28th at Grandview Memorial Gardens (1300 Marion Rd S.E. Rochester MN) at 9:00am.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate that memorial contributions be made in Allen H. Wilson’s name.

Thank you to all of you who have helped through this extremely difficult time.

Our joys will be greater,

Our love will be deeper,

Our lives will be fuller,

Because we shared your life.

Allen, DeAnna, Dennis and family.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all today, and I feel absolutely horrible that I cannot come and be with you all and say good-bye to my cousin Marie because of the weather.   Marie was a very wonderful person, and would give the shirt off her back if she knew someone needed it more than her.   Her kindness and generosity and being able to be there to help friends and family were traits that made her the person we all remember today.  Her spirit will live forever in our hearts and into eternity.   I was always fond of Marie and she made a great impression on my life, and to that I will always be grateful to her.  She taught me the importance of family, and how important having family meant.   She's the sole reason why I became fond of genealogy, and how we can discover more about ourselves if we can understand the past.   Marie was probably my favorite relative, and will probably always will be.  She was there for me when I was having my son, and I'll always thank her for being there.

I love you all very much, and I'll come to pay my respects on a later date.  May God bless you all during your time of sorrow, and just remember I am always here for you all.  Now it's time for Marie to fly with the angels and call heaven her new home.

Dennis and DeAnna- Your mom was always such a nice lady. You both are like brother and sister to me and I will be here for you when ever you need, night and day to listen, to talk, or to just get out and get your minds off things for a while. I hope that your loving memories with your mother help you through this difficult time.

Allen,DeAnna & Dennis We are so sorry for the passing of Marie, I wish we could be there for you all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Love you, Miss you,  Terry, Barb, Jeremy & Evan  Red Lodge, Montana

As a volunteer in dialysis, I talked to Marie and gave her hand massages when she felt good.  She was always enthusiastic about her darling grandchildren and enjoyed taking care of them.  The stories she told about them showed how much she loved them. She was a special lady; I will miss her.                 Jan Tarnow

Dear Dee & Family,

It is very difficult for a parent to lose a child, but I think it is just as difficult for a child to lose a parent. Marie was a wonderful mother, grandmother and you will always have those wonderful memories to comfort you. May her love help you through this difficult time. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

It has been such a pleasure knowing, and later caring for Marie. She always had a smile, especially when her grandchildren were there. She will be missed.

Such nice words written for her obituary it said exactly how she lived her life.  She sure loved her kids and grandchildren, they will have such great memories to pass on. I know I have good memories of when she would come and stay with us when mom went out of town, or the times she would help grandma Marion with the  noon hour in the Cafe that always meant when she was done I got to go with to St.Charles to see grandma Cox. Deanna, Dennis and I used to have a blast. I can even remember going to Bonanza to eat. Such good memories....

so sorry my dears..in my prayers always..I'm here if you need anything..luv you always...
