Lynda Lund

Lynda Lund, 66, of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, formerly of Rochester, passed away January 11, 2017 with family by her side.

Lynda Margaret Lund was born to Clair and Corrine “Corky” (Wendorf) Dickman on May 18, 1950 in Rochester. She attended Mayo High School and graduated in 1969. After high school Lynda attended college in Rochester for one year before working at Rochester International Airport in flight services support for a brief number of years. In 1978 Lynda began working for the City of Rochester as a 911 dispatcher for the Rochester Police Department and Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office. She worked there for 32 years before retiring in 2010. In 1985 Lynda married Kevin Lund Sr. of Rochester. They later divorced in 1995.

Lynda enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Katy, and grandson, Carson. She loved watching him grow for almost four years. He was the center of her world. Lynda also enjoyed horses, barrel racing, and rodeos, especially traveling with her daughter Katy to those events throughout her life. She enjoyed family vacations to Ft. Myers Beach, Florida. Lynda was a wonderful mother and friend to those who knew her.

Lynda is survived by her daughter, Katy Lund, of Sauk Rapids and grandson, Carson Davis; mother, Corrine Dickman of Rochester; brother, Tom (Joyce) Dickman of Rochester; nephews, Eric (Colleen) Dickman of Rochester and Andrew Dickman of Osseo. Also surviving Lynda are former stepchildren, Kevin (Kim) Lund Jr. of Brainerd, and Laureen Lund of St. Paul. She was preceded in death by her father, Clair Dickman.

A memorial service will be held in River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 11:00AM with Rev. Maurice E. Hagen officiating.  A visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00PM on Monday, January 16, 2017 in River Park Chapel and also one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Condolences

The family of Lynda Lund has received the following condolences.

Death is an enemy that take those we love, leaving much pain and emptiness of heart. We are not left without hope or the opportunity to live the life Almighty God purposed from the beginning. That is a life without suffering, illnesses, unforeseen event and death. Revelation 21:4 says: "And He (Almighty God) will wipe out every tear from their (ours) eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry, nor pain be any more. The former things will have passed away." THINK!! of life eternally on a Paradise earth, being able to welcome back those from the sleep of death. Please read from your Bible these promises; John 5:28 &29, Psalm 37:29. I am truly sorry.

Prayers lifted during this most difficult time. Thought I don't know you, I worked for the City of Rochester during the time Linda worked there. Loosing a mother is never easy, lean on each other for comfort, lean on our God for strength to see through your grieving process. ???

Katy
