Kay Lorraine Meyer

Kay Lorraine Meyer, age 69 of Rochester, passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side on April 25, 2017 following a short battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Kay Lorraine Ling was born on April 21, 1948 in Worthington, MN to Arnold and Viola Ling. She attended grade and high school at Round Lake, MN. She then attended Jackson Vocational/Technical School (currently Southwestern Technical College) where she received her Clerical/Secretarial Certificate. On December 12, 1970, she married Dale H. Meyer in Worthington, MN. The couple started their lives together in Fairmont, MN before making Rochester their home. Along with being a caring homemaker, Kay worked for MetLife Insurance, Minnesota/Wisconsin Baptist Convention, and the Minnesota Bible College (Crossroad College). Together, the couple raised four children. Kay had a strong Christian faith and was a quiet, faithful servant. She loved singing on the Worship Team, Sweet Adeline’s Singing Group, crocheting, gardening, and being an avid MN Twins fan. She spent numerous hours volunteering at various places including Hope Summit Christian Church, and the Ronald McDonald House of Rochester. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Kay is survived by her husband of over 46 years, Dale of Rochester; her children, Barb (Skylar) Ackland of Rochester, Larry (Lisa) Meyer of Eureka, MO, Jennie (Tony) Goble of Rochester, Amy (Matt) Higgins of Powhatan, VA; siblings, Gary Ling, Lonnie Williams, Dan Ling, Peggy Cain, Daryl Ling; grandchildren, Jordan, John, Kahler, Ashton, Quinn, Lily, Will, Kaida, and Anabelle. She is preceded in death by her parents.

The Memorial Service for Kay will be held on Saturday, April 29 at 11:00am at Hope Summit Christian Church with Pastor Jeff Matteson officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday evening, April 28 from 5:00-8:00pm in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Burial of Kay’s ashes will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, MN at a later date.

Sympathy at Kay's death.  Growing up I'm Round Lake, I did know Kay and the rest of the family.  Thinking of you at this difficult time.  God's blessings to her family.

Ours thoughts and prayers go out to you at this time of loss.  So many memories come rushing back.  May God provide peace and comfort!

Dear Jennie Goble and family, although I only met your mom a handful of times I know how very important she was to you. I can only imagine the love between a mother and her daughter. You'll always have that love even though you and your mom are in different places. It will never fade, but the pain of the moment will surely lessen. I want you to know that you're in my prayers. Your mom is at home in the hands of the Lord. Her pain here on Earth is over. Please find comfort with the fact the she's no longer suffering. With love,Artie

Dale, the whole staff is so sorry for your loss and are praying for you and your kids.  Just know that you are loved by us and your ever-loving Father.  Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you.

Dale.

The guys in the Plumbing shop want to let you know you are in our thoughts and prayers.
