John Paul Dovin

John Paul Dovin of Kirksville, Missouri joined his Heavenly Father on July 20, 2014.  John passed from this earth while at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

Preceding him in death are his father, John J. Dovin; brother, Julio Dovin, sisters Irma and Nel Nicole Dovin, niece Holly Lucas, and great-nephew Damian Michael Schulte.

Survivors include his wife Pat (Helton), sons Austin and Jansen and
grandson Jaiden, daughter Brittaney Neff and husband Brad
of Kirksville, MO and son Jonathan Dovin of St. Louis, MO, grandchildren
Body Neff and Bristol Neff, his mother Bea Dovin of Rolla, MO; sisters
Vicki Kijewski and Lynda Green of Iowa City, IA Bea (Damian) Schulte
of Greentop, Ruth (Paul) Lunsford of DesMoines, IA; Lara (Mark) Wood,
DesMoines, IA; brothers Damian (Karina) Dovin of Ostego, MI; Dimitri
(Bobbi) Dovin of Vichy, MO; David (Tina) Dovin of Shelbina, MO; Daniel
(Jody) Dovin of Shelbina, MO, and numerous nieces and nephews.

John was born on March 15, 1962 in Shelton, Washington. He graduated from Knox County High School, Edina, MO in 1980, John pursued a career as a mechanic and graduated from Phoenix Institute of
Technology in 1984.  Early in his career John worked for Thomas Motors
of Moberly, MO and for the past 21 years has worked for Wal-Mart in
Kirksville, MO.  John could always be found in a shop; under, in, or
around a motor as he never lost is love of mechanics.

John loved life and people.  His love of family was only surpassed by
his love of God.  John was a member of Kirskville First Baptist Church
where he felt comforted and supported in his dreams.

On a typical day John’s lunch time was blessed with the kids in Pat’s
day care which he loved dearly.  On a typical evening, John could be
heard and seen cheering on his family’s sports teams.  John’s enthusiasm
and excitement for life will be missed in the stands at local sporting
events.

A funeral service for John will be held in Rochester, MN at 2:00pm on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the St. Marys Hospital Campus Chapel (1216 2nd Street SW Rochester, MN 55902) with pastor Charles Hunsaker officiating.  A visitation will occur at the Travis Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, MO on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm with burial following.

In lieu of flowers, due to John’s son Jansen Dovin’s medical condition restrictions, memorials are preferred written to the Dovin family or The First Baptist Church of Kirksville, Missouri.
