Faye Ricter

Faye LaVonne Ricter, 71, of Rochester, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 1st of 2016, at the Homestead Rehabilitation and Living Center in Rochester.

Faye LaVonne Klingfus was born July 30, 1945, in Nebraska to parents, Fred and Lillian Klingfus. The family moved to Austin, Minnesota where she spent the majority of her childhood. The Klingfus family later moved to Rochester where she attended and graduated from John Marshall High School with the Class of 1963. She married Louis John Ricter in November of 1963. They were married for 53 years. They lived in Byron, Minnesota where they raised three children together and later returned to Rochester.

Faye was the beloved mother of three children: John Ricter, Nick Ricter, and Wendy Ricter. Also surviving her are her four grandchildren: Lillia Newsom, Rori Ricter, Gabe Ricter, and Jarrett Watkins Jr. as well as her younger brother, Charlie (Mary Anne) Klingfus. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

Faye was a compassionate woman with an unbelievable love for her friends and family. She enjoyed history, dramas, traveling, cooking, listening to Elvis, and spending quality time with her family, as well as teaching her grandchildren and watching them grow. She led a life of courage, strength, and kindness. She attended Calvary Evangelical Free Church and was involved in the 4H Horse Program, the Dodge County Historical Society, and volunteering in a vast amount of other areas.

Upon death, Faye is reunited in heaven with her parents, her son John, and her long awaited Heavenly Father.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 11, at Calvary Evangelical Free Church, 5500 25th Ave NW, Rochester, MN 55901. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. with the service following at 3 p.m.
