Condolences

The family of Evidia P. Kronebusch has received the following condolences.

Ria and I send our condolences to the family of Evidia Petronilla Kronebusch. I met dearest Cousin Evidia at her home in Rochester during the summer of 1987. She was so kind to Ria and I and our boys. She even gave me pictures for the Tibesar Family Archives and told me, "You know Marcus, I always knew someone from the Tibesar family would come along and appreciate these photos."

We are truly saddened by her passing; she was our matriarch and guiding light.

God bless Evidia and our prayers and candles will be lit in her honor. I will also publish her Obituary in the Tibesar Family Archives (tibesar.com)

I met Evidia Kronebusch in 1966 when she was a St.Mary's Private Duty nurse for a polio patient from Germany.  What a wonderful nurse!  The German patient and family had many kind things to say about Evidia. I cleaned house for her as a student nurse and in later years I worked along side her with Rehabilitation patients at St.Marys Hospital.   Another nurse & good friend, Laura, and I would stop in to visit her occasionally.  Laura liked to bring her a rose in winter since she didn't have any in her garden at that time of year.  Evidia was known for her hospitality and enjoyed showing and telling about her doll collection. Tom enjoyed translating some German letters for her.  May she rest in peace.

Evidia "Vi" was one of the most incredibly nice & inspiring (and older) human beings I've ever known.  Tho' for some years she's been an active presence among those who--like my 90-something mother, June--call Madonna Towers home, we actually chanced to meet her back in her 80's, when she was still living independently in her own house near St. Marys. [Her nursing career there spanned interesting decades, from the time of the Mayo brothers, and their Franciscan nun partners, to the eventual takeover of St. Marys by the Clinic.]  Her amazing, green-thumb passion for gardening followed her to retirement at Madonna; and in recent years she was primarily responsible for tending diverse plantings in one of the inner courtyards there.  The last time we spoke to her, a few months ago, she lucidly confessed to "slowing down" in her 2nd century, but still had an eternal sparkle in her eye. May she Rest in Peace & fields of Roses.  --Frank & Dottie Hawthorne
