Condolences

The family of Elaine Laun has received the following condolences.

Dear Sonja, I am very sorry to learn of your mom passing away.  Lorraine sent me a note and let me know. There is something very sad about moms leaving, even though both yours and mine are happy now and out of pain. I do remind myself of that quite often. I hope you and your family are doing well. I remember times past from the Rochester days and getting ready for your trip to India. I wanted you to know that I am thinking about you and you are in my prayers.  Please convey my sympathy do your dad as well. Always your friend, Nancy

Dear Dale and Laun Family,

As an old Art student of Dale's at Jefferson Elementary in the early 70's, I am so sorry to hear of your loss.

It must have been a wonderful 58 years of marriage for you and Elaine.

My thoughts and those of my brothers Dave and John and my sister Sarah, are with you.

Please accept our condolences,

Pete Williams (Stavanger, Norway)

I am so sorry to heard about the passing of Elaine.  She was a very good cousin and friend to my parents - Donald and Alice White.  Elaine was a gracious hostess and a supportive guide through many of my mother's visits and surgeries at St. Mary's.

Elaine lived a life that modeled paying the kindness forward and made the world a better place to be.

One of the most fun times Elaine and I had,was fishing on the Cannon River across the road  and over the bogs. What a fun day as the fish were biting so well. We caught 60 fish, bullheads, put them in our bucket, carried them home, one of us on each side of the pail. We were so proud to have caught so many fish. When we got home we had to to clean them. Cleaning them was a tricky task but it was well worth it.That night..we had fresh fish, all you could  eat for dinner.

Elaine and I have conversed with each other on the phone several times a weeks since she has been unable to get out and unable to walk..Ivan and I always looked forward to her calls as she always kept us posted on the latest.

I would call Elaine regarding illnesses and get her advice. I appreciated her willingness to share  knowledge she had in so many areas of our health.

Most of all I admired her willingness to help me in many ways, her hospitality and love expressed in so many ways.

I will miss my dear sister Elaine, our  phone conversations and not being able to see her on this earth.I look forward to the day we will all see Jesus and our families.I love you Elaine.
