Donald “Don” Pischke

Donald Roy Pischke, age 84, passed away at Prairie Meadows Assisted Living in Kasson, MN on January 12, 2014.

Don was born on November 30, 1930 in Sparta, WI, to Roy and Lottie Pischke. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1950 and served during the Korean Conflict. Don was a decorated Naval veteran who was stationed on the USS Sicily as part of the Navy Helicopter Search and Rescue Team. On August 25, 1952 he married Marion Ann Murphy in LaCrosse, WI. Together, they raised six children. Don worked for Trane Inc. in LaCrosse, WI before moving to Rochester and working for IBM for over 28 years as a Machinist.

He is survived by his children, Daniel (Diane) Pischke of Iowa, Donald (Sheryl) Pischke of Dodge Center, MN, William (Cindy) Pischke of Renwick, IA, Jeffry (Linda) Pischke of Rochester, MN, Lori Arnett of Rochester, brothers David and Jack, sisters Mary Lou and Betty, grandchildren Missy, Luke, Andrew, Ben, Jay, Kate, Jeremy, Jason, Josh, Sara, Charley, Heather, and eight great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Marion, a son Larry Joe and a sister, Naomi.

A Memorial Service for Don will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 2:00PM in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in the LaCrosse Catholic Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials are preferred to the Leukemia Foundation.
