Dale F. Bohlman

The memorial service for Dale F. Bohlman, 83, of Rochester will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville with Pastor Byron Meline and Pastor Kim Cassidy officiating.

Mr. Bohlman died on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Maple Manor Nursing Home, where he had been a patient for the last month.

Dale Frederick Bohlman was born October 5, 1931 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to John and Tillie (Jordheim) Bohlman. He grew up on the family farm in Thompson, North Dakota and served in the US Army from 1952-1954. He then attended Dakota Business College in Fargo, North Dakota where he met his future wife, Norma Miller. Dale and Norma were married at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fargo, North Dakota on November 24, 1954. Following their marriage, they moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where Dale worked for Standard Oil. In 1967 he was transferred to Rochester to be an auditor and they made their home in Stewartville, Minnesota. In 1971 he went to work for E.K. Williams and Co. and in 1976 he went into business for himself. Dale then retired in December 1994. Dale and Norma recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary!

Dale was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, playing golf and visiting with his friends and neighbors. Dale was known for his sense of humor and quick wit, he had a kind heart and big smile for everyone.

Dale is survived by his wife, Norma; his daughter Sandy (Bob) Buehler; his grandsons Aaron and Marcus, all of Rochester; his sister, Lois Tweten Hanson of Fargo, North Dakota; his sister-in-law, Carmen Bohlman of Thompson, North Dakota; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lloyd Bohlman.

Friends may call from 2- 4 pm on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at The River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, Rochester, Minnesota and a half hour before the service at Zion Lutheran Church in Stewartville, Minnesota on Monday, March 23, 2015. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, Minnesota is in charge of arrangements.
