Beatrice Loretta (Applen) Hansen
The funeral for Beatrice (Jerred) (Applen) Hansen will be held in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 2pm with Pastor Lester J. Horntvedt officiating with visitation from 1pm to 2pm(1 hour before service). Interment will take place in Spring Valley Cemetery at a later date.
Beatrice of LeRoy, formerly of Wykoff and Rochester passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Wildwood Grove in LeRoy, MN.
Beatrice was born June 15, 1920 in Chester, Iowa. On August 24, 1940 she married Irving Applen. To this marriage 8 children were born. Irving passed away June 12, 1976. On May 12, 1979 she married Laverne Hansen in LeRoy, Minnesota. LaVerne passed away April 17, 1984.
Beatrice was a homemaker, worked at Libby’s (Seneca) and K-Mart in Rochester. She loved being outside working in the garden and camping. She enjoyed reading and doing needle work.
Beatrice is survived by 5 of her 8 children: Lynn (Carol) Applin of Las Lunas, NM, Linda (Jerry) Johnson, Lime Springs, IA, Irving “Craig” (Mary), Neil (Karen) of Rochester, Randy of Tucson AZ, and son-in-law David Sunde of Preston. 14 grandchildren 23 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister – Dawn Munt of Robinsdale, MN.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, son James, daughters Kay Sunde and Janet Meyer, one son-in-law and 4 sisters and one brother.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Croix Hospice or Wildwood Grove Assisted Living.

I have the fondest of memories of Bea. She was truly like a second mom to me way back when while growing up in Wykoff ----we lived kiddy-corner from my favorite neighbors!! She always made me laugh!! Loved the whole family! What a wonderful long life of memories for you all to look back on! I hope to see you tomorrow. Take care...

I am Rosemary LeTendre' s daughter, and we have informed mom of Beatirce's passing. She would have dearly loved to be at the funeral to see you and celebrate her life, but she is currently hospitalized following total hip replacement surgery followed by severe infection and a second surgery.
