Arlene B. Stueve

The Funeral Service for Arlene Finley Chapman Stueve will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday March 24, 2015 in River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, with Rev. Dan Ashpole officiating. Burial will be In Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Rochester. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Tuesday.

Ms. Stueve, 84 of Rochester, died peacefully of natural causes Saturday March 14, 2015 at her home.

Arlene was born August 6, 1930 near Byron to Paul and Dorothea Jensen Finley. She attended Hadley Valley School. In 1947 she married Richard Chapman and the couple worked together in house construction. The couple later divorced and she then married Glenn Stueve and they later divorced. Arlene did housekeeping for Nancy Brataas for many years. Arlene then had “Grandma’s Place” Child Day Care and in her later life did adult foster care. She was a member of the homemakers group for 50 years.

Survivors include her three daughters Bonita Amos, Lori (Mark) Dols, Sharry Chapman, two sons, Richard and John Paul (Cassidy) Chapman all of Rochester, her grandchildren Colt Amos, Katie Ghareeb, Stacy Hughes, Brandon Langdon, Kyle Witucki, Daniellie Tetter, Jessica Kress, Vanessa Peterson, Shannon Schneider, Kelly Rahman, Amy Schumacher, Ryan Chapman, Sharry Stensrud, Jeff Chapman, Savannah Hukil, Tucker Chapman, Alex Trogstad, and 26 great grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters Barbara Dunderi, Diane Schletty, Judy Martin all of Rochester , Dorothy Hall of Pine Island, two brothers, Richard (Jane) Finley of Byron and Paul (Sharon) Finley of Rochester. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, a brother Ronald, daughter Christine Riese, and grandson Tyler Trogstad.

Arlene was very close with her family she loved gardening, dancing and playing cards. She loved to entertain and always had an open door policy at her house.

Arlene was a good Aunt, friend and woman. She always did have an open door for any family. She was go good to my Mother and I, she always made us feel welcome. As a kid I would go spend week-ends with them, just another kids to the tribe. Good times and Good memories. Sorry I will not be able to come share the memories of your mother, but my thoughts and prayers are with you all.  I love you and keep in touch.
