Ama passed away in her family’s home in Rochester after a protracted battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband Sunny Omoijuanfo. They made their home in Birmingham, Alabama, where they belonged to the Parkway Center Christian Ministry. She was blessed with two beautiful young children, Favor (9) and Matthew (7). She moved to Rochester to be close to family after cancer took her husband. On arrival in Rochester she joined the Redeemed Christian Church of God – Chosen Generation Parish. Ama had a career in international shipping, freight & port management, and in food service management. She is survived by family members scattered all over the globe – America, Africa & Europe. She loved dearly her numerous nieces & nephews and they in turn adored her, fondly calling her “gran ma Sherry.”
She loved the Lord & readily professed her faith, encouraging others going through hardship. She gave of herself readily sowing seeds in the lives of the needy.
Memorials are preferred to the scholarship fund for her two children – Favor & Matthew c/o Daniel & Eva Dogo-Esekie.
Macken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements; online condolences are welcome at www.mackenfuneralhome.com
