Patricia K. Stack

The sun rises and there is silence. We will see and hear her no more.

The funeral for Patricia Kaye Stack will be at River Park Chapel, Macken Funeral Home in Rochester on Thursday, June 2, 2011. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a short service at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.

Patricia Stack, 53, died early Sunday morning, May 29, 2011, at her home.

Patricia Wiskow was born Oct. 27, 1957, in Rochester, to Lester and Geraldine Wiskow. She graduated from St. Charles High School in 1976. She then graduated from Winona Vo-Tech as a secretary on Aug. 26, 1976. Patricia worked for the Salvation Army Thrift Store with lots of people who will truly miss her.

Survivors include her mother, Geraldine Wiskow; sister, Kate Wiskow; son, Chad; twin daughters, Bobbie Huskisson (spouse Ian Marugg), and Jaime Steadman (husband Stephen); son, Patrick Huskisson; in-laws, Rose and Quin Kerwin; grandchildren, Jack Marugg, Maximus Marugg, Zak Marugg, Stephen Steadman and Saydee Steadman.

She loved her parents, siblings, kids, grandchildren, friends, and especially her dog, Sammy, and her cat, Tiger. They all loved her back. She’s already missed dearly.

Timothy A. Moeckel Jr.

The funeral for Timothy Alan Moeckel, Jr. will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1st at Macken Funeral Home River Park Chapel in Rochester, MN with the Evangelist Scott Norby officiating and Kathy Dorsett interpreting  the funeral service.  Visitation will start at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday and will be held at Macken Funeral Home River Park Chapel.

Timothy Moeckel, Jr. 28, of Northfield, MN, passed away unexpectedly on May 25, 2011.

Timothy Jr. was born June 3, 1982 in St. Paul, MN to Timothy, Sr. and Debra Moeckel.  He graduated from Rosemount in 2000 and was formally married to Deanna Horhman.

Survivors include his parents; Timothy Sr. and Debra Moeckel of Rochester, one sister; Rayner and brother in-law, Jason. He is also survived by his nephews; Jamal, Jasper, Kendall and Zeke and his nieces; Rayna, Kyra, and Zella of New Richland, one son; Jordin Zeestraten, 10, of Rosemount, Grandmothers; Audrey Carlson of Rochester and Jane Moeckel of St. Paul, uncles, aunts,  and cousins.

Timothy Jr. loved to work on his trucks and motorcycle, his favorite spot was at the farm,  he enjoyed motorcycle riding, being around his friends, his tattoos and spending time with his nephews.

Mildred (Nanny) Lance

MILDRED (Nanny) LANCE

The funeral Mass for Mildred (Nanny) Lance will be conducted at 10 a.m.
Saturday at St. Francis Catholic Church in Rochester. Burial will follow
at Calvary Cemetery.

Mildred, 93, died the evening of May 23rd surrounded by her family.

She was born on March 16, 1918 to Julius and Loretta Gessner and spent her
early years on a dairy farm outside of Theilman, MN with her four sisters
and two brothers. She attended Country School and graduated from McKale
High School in Lake City, MN. She went on to Beauty School and worked as a
beautician at the Kahler Hotel and later worked in Plainview.

Mildred married Leslie Lance on September 26, 1942 in Rochester. They had
eight children: Mary Ann (Dick) Carpenter, Patricia (Joe) Endrizzi, Rita
(Mike) Rounds, Jeanne (Bob) Stoneman, Rose (Austin) Cushman, Ned (Ann)
Lance, Tom (Amy) Lance and Charlie (Debbie) Lance. They were further
blessed with 24 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, who
affectionately knew her as Nanny. She is survived by a sister, Helen
McGrath and a brother, Alan Gessner.

Throughout her life, in addition to raising eight children, she was
actively involved with her husband in the day-to-day operation of Lance
Plumbing and Heating. She also worked part time at the Rochester Post
Bulletin. Mildred was an active member of St. Francis Catholic Church for
62 years. She spent many years as a member of the Eastwood Ladies Golf
League.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Les, and her beloved daughter, Patty. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday in the River Park Chapel at  Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Francis Catholic Church Endowment Fund.

Nancy Ingalls Kelly

Nancy Ingalls Kelly, 78, formerly of rural Rochester and recently of Faribault, MN, and Tucson, AZ passed to our Lord and Savior peacefully May 19, 2011 in her Tucson, AZ home, surrounded by loving family and husband of 58 years, holding her hand. Nancy is now in Heaven sitting upon Jesus’ lap.

She was born at home September 21, 1932 to Cecelia “Bernice” Ingalls of Pleasant Grove, MN. At age 15, Nancy lived and worked as a nanny for the Dr. Cherry family in Rochester. She graduated from Rochester High School in 1950.  On September 23, 1952, she married the love of her life, Vincent S. Kelly at St. John’s Catholic Church in Rochester, officiated by Rev. Monsignor Joseph Mountain.

Nancy worked as a telephone operator for Rochester State Hospital for 15 years until its closing and then for Northwest Bell for 15 years, retiring at the time the company was reorganized. Vince worked for Rochester Public Schools for 35 years and retired in 1990. The couple farmed and raised their nine children in rural Rochester until the 1980’s when they moved to their home on Golden Hill in Rochester. In 1990 they made their home on Lake Roosevelt in Outting, MN. Nancy loved her log cabin at the lake and especially enjoyed visits by all of her children and grandchildren. Vince and Nancy traveled frequently to Tucson, AZ beginning in 1978 when their daughter Peggy moved away. In 1996 they made their home on Bull Run in Tucson to be closer to their daughters, thus beginning their snowbird status.

Nancy loved sewing, knitting, crafts, making pajamas, winter caps and mittens, quilts, afghans for all her children and later, grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking; it will be sorely missed by all. Vince and Nancy often travelled to Portland, OR to visit their youngest son. For her birthday in 1999, the couple made their trip of a lifetime to Ireland. With the loving care of her husband, Nancy was able to enjoy life longer.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she is survived by her loving husband, Vincent S. Kelly; daughters Peggy (Mark) Malcomson of Tucson, AZ,  Mary Kelly of Rochester, Julie (Andrew) Dutton of Vail, AZ, and Jill (Shalise) Kelly of Lanesboro, MN;  sons Patrick of Stillwater, MN , Scott (Jeanne)of Mankato, MN, Christopher of Rochester, MN, Shawn (Kimberly) of St. Charles, MN, and Joshua (Jennifer) of Portland, OR; 16 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and brother Roger (Sharon) Barnes of Oronoco, MN, and Annie and Bucky beloved canine companions.  She was preceded in death by her mother and brother, Norman Barnes.

A Memorial Mass was held in Tucson Monday, May 23rd at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church officiated by Rev. Monsignor Tom Cahalane.

Pallbearers for Nancy are Brandon Kelly, Heather Kelly, Zachary Kelly, Logan Kelly, Evan Kelly, Connor Kelly.  Honorary Pallbearers are Cameron Kelly, Ashley Peterson, Mikki Kelly, Meghan Kelly, Martin Malcomson, Andie Dutton, Casey Larson, Holly Benke, Hilary Kelly, and Quinn Kelly.

A Funeral Mass in Rochester will take place 10:30am Saturday, May 28th 2011 at Resurrection Catholic Church officiated by Rev. Kevin Connolly . Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.  Friends may call from 5-8pm Friday, May 27th in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one half hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society in memory of Nancy Kelly or may be designated for Catholic Masses. Macken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Charlotte E. Schaub

The funeral for Charlotte E. “Char” Schaub will be at 2:00pm Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester with Pastor Terry Rasmussen and Pastor Brian Smith co- officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the River Park Chapel.  Burial will be at 1:00pm, Friday May 27, 2011 at Riverside Cemetery near Winnebago, MN.

Mrs. Schaub, 74, of Rochester passed away Tuesday May 18, 2011 at St. Marys Hospital of natural causes.

Charlotte Ellen Vaughn was born on July 9, 1936 in Towner, ND to Charles and Clara (Nelson) Vaughn.  She married Richard Schaub in 1957; Richard passed away in 1986.  Char worked for many years as a supervisor at St. Marys Hospital before retiring.  She enjoyed arts and crafts, sewing, needle work and cross stitching.

She is survived by her daughters, Bonilou Schaub of Rochester, Gwendolyn (John) Hernandez of Frost, MN and Susan K. of Eden Prairie, MN; one son, Philip David Schaub of Rochester; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; sisters Alice Tibbals of Minot, ND and Louise (Wilbur) Harsch of Pick City, ND.  She is preceded in death by her husband, one great grandchild, one brother and three sisters.

Memorials are preferred to “Operation Smile” which provides free surgeries to repair cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities for children around the globe.

Dr. Douglas J. Pritchard

Dr. Pritchard, 73, of Rochester, died peacefully Thursday (May 19, 2011) at Seasons’s Hospice in Rochester, surrounded by his loving family, after a valiant struggle with Parkinsons’s disease and liver cancer.

Dr. Pritchard was born December 25, 1937, in Kewanee, Illinois, to John and Madeleine Pritchard.  He was raised in Des Moines, Iowa, with his brothers Edward and Richard, in a home filled with music and a love of words.  He was a dedicated paper boy for the Des Moines Register and Tribune, where his father was the lead typesetter.  After two years at Roosevelt High School, he received a paper boy’s scholarship to attend Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, NH, and Harvard College in Cambridge, MA, from which he graduated in 1960. He received an M.D. from Tuft’s Medical School, Boston, MA, in 1964.  In 1963, he married Janice Marie Dobrowolski.

He was a Captain in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Ord, CA, from 1966-68.  In 1968, he joined the Mayo Clinic as a resident in the Department of Orthopedics.  He joined the Department of Orthopedic Surgery as a consultant in 1972.  From 1980-1993, he served as Head of Section, and from 1993 to 1999 he served as Chair of the Division. He retired from surgery in 2000, and remained on staff until 2005, when he fully retired.

Dr. Pritchard specialized in the management of bone and soft tissue tumors. In the course of his academic career, he authored or co-authored over 200 articles or book chapters, and became professor of orthopedic surgery and oncology.  As president of the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society, he travelled internationally, and his academic work resulted in major improvements in the prognosis for patients with these tumors.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his daughters, Lisa (Doug) Bayley of Red Wing, Minn., and Beth of Rochester, Minn., a son, John (Zoei) of Rochester, Minn; and three grandchildren (Nora and Nick Bayley and Joshua Pritchard); two brothers, Edward (Susan) of Fort Myers, FL and Richard (Esther) of Houston, TX.  He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter.

Dr. Pritchard was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, and Rotary Club of Rochester, where he held a Paul Harris Fellowship.

He was very proud and honored to be a part of Mayo Clinic, and he treasured the many friends and colleagues he made along the way.  Their friendship and support was a source of constant help during his long illness.

His loving wife, Janice, was the love of his life and his best friend. They travelled all over the world together and entertained many family and friends in their welcoming home. An avid fisherman, he loved nothing more than flying in to fish on a quiet Canadian lake.  He loved woodworking, reading and travel.  He was a mentor to many young doctors from all over the world, who remember him as a humble teacher who delighted in their successes.  He loved being with his family, and revealing a wry sense of humor beneath a quiet, dignified exterior.

The funeral for Dr. Douglas J. Pritchard will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Rochester.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.  Memorials are preferred to Parkinson Disease Research at Mayo Clinic, 200 1st Street, SW Rochester, MN 55905, and Seasons Hospice, 1811 Greenview Place, S.W., Rochester, MN 55902.

Milton Christor Robsahm

Milton Christor Robsahm

The Memorial services for Milton will be held at 2 pm Thursday May 19, 2011 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home.   A reception will immediately follow services.

Milton Christer Robsahm was born on August 12, 1926 to Leona and Earl Robsahm in Wessington, South Dakota.  A long time native of Rochester, Milt died at home May 14, 2011. His passing was deeply peaceful and in the loving embrace of his family.

Milton married the love of his life, Mary Louise Schleher at her family home in Redfield, South Dakota on June 29, 1946. Their love and commitment to each provided a source of everlasting strength and hope for everyone, but especially their daughters, Robyn Stephanie, Meg, and grandsons Jon & William Giese.

Milton joined the United States Marine Corps on July 10, 1944, completed Marine Basic Combat Training and served on the USS Wasp in 1945 during WWII participating in sea combat action against enemy forces.  Upon returning home in 1946, he joined the newly formed Reserve Fleet Marines.

In 1950, Milton was activated for the Korean War.  He entered three combat ground actions against enemy forces.  In December of 1951, he was placed in the disabled retired reserves.  Corporal Robsahm was awarded the Purple Heart,Pacific Service Ribbon with Oak Leaf Clusters, World War II Service Ribbon, Marine Corps Service Ribbon, and Korean War Service Ribbon.  He was very proud of his military service to his country.

Milt followed in his fathers’ footsteps by managing grocery meat departments in Rochester MN, Brookings SD, and Eau Claire WI. He worked for Gift House Stamps for several years. At the end of his career, he took great satisfaction in being employed as a Federal Meat Inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture.

A twenty nine year friend of Bill W, Milt was very influential in regional AA activities and Co-founder of Hiawatha Land. He was well known and loved for his sense of humor and direct no-nonsense approach to walking his path.

A friend and mentor of many, many people he always spoke his truth and encouraged others to do the same.

Gardening was a source of strength, nurturance and peace for Milt. He loved tending to his yard and took great delight in sharing it with others. Now he joins his daughter, Robyn Stephanie Robsahm, parents Earl and Leona Robsahm, sisters Rowena, & Rachel in God’s great garden.

Survivors include his wife Mary Robsahm of Rochester, daughter Meg and Son-in-Law, Tony Vannelli of Monroe, WA; Grandsons Jon Giese and wife Elizabeth of Stewartville, MN; William Giese and wife Katrina, currently of Fairbanks, AK; Great Grandson, Kean of Peterson MN; Brother Leon and wife Zona of Sioux Falls, SD; Sister Onilee and husband Walter Brachvogal of Kansas; Theodora and Dr. Robert DePompolo of Plainview; Kathleen and Keith Halphide of Rochester; Sandra Harvath of Redfeild, SD; Linda and Leo Stoltz of Manassas, VA.

Memorials will be shared among AA, Hospice and DAV.

Donald E. Connolly

Donald E Connolly, 93, died May 13, 2011, at the Shorewood Senior  Campus assisted living facility in Rochester.

Don was born June 3, 1917, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the son of  Edward and Ida (Stuve) Connolly. The family soon after moved to  Rochester, where Don was a lifelong resident. He married Nina  Cranston on September 15, 1940, in Cresco Iowa. After working for  approximately 15 years as a plumber, Don along with his brother Tom  and father Ed built Connolly’s Motel in downtown Rochester. The  motel was a thriving family business until Don and his partners  retired in 1981, when the motel was sold to the Mayo Clinic.

Don and  Nina enjoyed traveling and watching their grandchildren grow up  during their 30 years of retirement together.  Don is survived by Nina, his wife of 70 years; children Jerry  (Mary), Mike (Bonnie), Jean (Ken) Pagel, and Steve (Lane); and seven  grandchildren, Jennifer, Christine, Alissa, Krista, Brian, Dan, and  Jessica. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Tom.

Visitation will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at the  River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, followed by  the funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, with Father John Lasuba officiating.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.

Kimberly Susan Nordby

The funeral mass for Kimberly Susan Nordby will be at 11:00a.m. Monday, May 16, 2011 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald J. Schmitz officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2011 at the church.

Mrs. Nordby, 45, of Byron died Thursday, May 12, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  Kimberly was born on May 18, 1965 to Donald and Nancy (Haight) Minter.  She married Gary Branchaud and later divorced.  The couple had three sons, James, Michael and Douglas.  Kimberly later married Steven Nordby and had three daughters, Nicole, Kaylee and Danielle.

She is also survived by her step-sisters, Donna Mae Minter, Connie Minter, and Judy Walter; stepbrothers, Donald and Michael Minter, Michael, Robert and Loren Walter; three granddaughters, Anna, Gracie and Rayna.

Joanne M. Freese

The funeral service for Joanne M. Freese will be at 12:00 PM Monday May 16, 2011 at Bethel  Lutheran Church in Rochester, with Rev Anjanette Rist officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Rochester. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am. to 12:00 pm. Monday May 16, 2011 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester.

Mrs. Freese 82, of Rochester, formerly of Osage, Iowa and Stewartville,  MN., died of complication from cancer Friday May 13, 2011 at Samaritan Bethany Heights  in Rochester.

Joanne was born May 20, 1928 in Rochester, MN. to  Heye and Beretha (Dicken) Renken.  She attended rural schools and graduated from Stewartville High School in 1949. She moved to Eugene Oregon and attended beauty college, graduated, and worked there for seven years. She returned to Rochester and married Dietrich “Dick” Freese on September 27, 1958. Mrs. Freese was the owner operator of the Beauty-Aire in Stewartville. She enjoyed her flower garden, embroidery, and she also enjoyed collecting recipe books .  Mr. Freese farmed near Dover and also worked for the Minnesota highway department as a heavy equipment operator for 32 years. Mr. Freese died April 4, 2005.

Survivors include a Step-son Ken (Betty) Freese of Spring Vally, MN. Two  Step-grandchildren Cheryl (Mark) Lehnertz of Chatfield and Jason (Sara) Freese of Byron, MN. Three Step Great Grandchildren, Jay Lehnertz and Jessica and Jacob Freese. She is also survived by two sisters, Lea (Clifton) Pagel of Rochester, and Florence (Dale) Worrick of Springdale Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, and 1 sister. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews
